  1. I have an old Badger 150 and a 200 , nothing super expensive but bullet proof a d a long time usable old standard
  2. Ok I will. I was kind of searching it out but seemed to be coming up dry. …. Off to the computer …
  3. Color chosen ….. was initially going to use. MM Boyds metallic red, but upon some research decided it was very translucent and I only have ONE bottle, and if I mess it up, which I am prone to, I would be in a pickle. Ssooooo with that in mind we chose MM Stop Light Red Metallic enamel, mostly as it is close to the color of my cars and my Tahoe and it is one of my favourite colors. Also I think it will make the heavy haul look cool as well as I have two bottles . Also decided on chrome fuel tanks as I bought the $40 Revell spray can of chrome.
  4. So, I am thinking I may in fact change my suspension idea from the Hendrickson HN to the Hendrickson HR/RS suspension. It has the appearance of an older style which should fir with my older W/S tractor. It is a traditional rubber block/ walking beam suspension kit. This conversion will drastically change the kit air bag system.
  5. Personally, I think orange is a way better color but they didn’t ask my opinion.
  6. All highways maintenance was performed by the Provincial Government until the government of the day thought it was a good idea to privatize highways maintenance in October 1987. Then all B. C. Highways maintenance was performed by private companys , and then shortly after that they decided yellow was the color of the day…. Not intended as a hijack of your build thread.
  7. Lee, the orange trucks were Provincial Government trucks not really a ‘company’ per se. The actual orange color name was Toledo Orange. The ‘experts’ decided the orange and white trucks weren’t as visible as the ‘school bus yellow’ ….. most of us who worked on the highways don’t agree but I digress.
  8. Roger that. I need to dream of suspensions too.🤣
  9. Yes check them out. The guys at 3dConcepts are great to deal with. And they are striving to make a good product
  10. I have two New Hendrickson suspension kits from 3dConcepts. They are beautiful little gems. Even come with ‘rubber blocks’ to insert during the construction of them. This one I’m re thinking is a rubber block walking beam style. These are 3d printed ones.
  11. Chipped away today with suspension. I may change to a different Hendrickson type. More of a rubber block style that works for heavy haul and may actually be a better choice. Gonna sleep on it as they say …….
  12. Thanks , Dan. I have to stay on the ball now !!🤣
  13. The plumbing on the engine makes it look really busy which is something I struggle with sometimes. It will look good under a splash of paint for sure
  14. I'm NO Mack expert by any means, but it looks ok toe me and that's the way I would put it in.... looks correct to me..... its your model, put it in anyway you want.... also kit parts, especially old AMT kits , were never 100% accurate with their parts anyway.... at least in my experience... I always have to adjust something... keep going, she's lookin good from my seat....
  15. This is pretty cool , I wonder , on the real one , how much they had to “beef” up the drive line , u-joints, drive shaft, transmission, rear ends etc because if the torque on this monster? Maybe none ? It sure would be a pulling brute for back in the day, it would be a fun drive. i’m really enjoying catching up and keeping up with the up dates. Thanks for bringing this back to the bench
  16. Yes, they are long. On the driver’s side , from the front bumper to the plow corner bit is 9 feet and almost 3 feet in some cases for the sander chute and spinner. Believe me when I say they can be a challenge to turn around on a narrow road. Outstanding as usual , Brian.
  17. Not really. They are posable and actually supposed to be ‘workable’ to which they are but because I may want to pose them and maybe change the pose, I make them workable but I don’t ‘swage’ the pins with a ‘hot screw driver’🙄as suggested. I pinch out discs and use them instead. That way the little pis are useable. If I ‘heat swaged’ I would probably have a glob of plastic on my bench. 🤭😉
  18. You did. A few slight mods but nothing crazy. So the plan is to work back from the transmission to the rear ends for suspension placement ….. as we slowly progress
  19. Just a small ‘mock up’ of the engine change. Looks like it will work quite well. I’m fairly happy with this
  20. I will watch this build with great interest. This is VERY cool.
  21. I got my latest order from 3d Concepts yesterday….. and wow, real nice stuff….. I ordered Two suspension packages, some grab hooks as well as some strap tie down plates. Most of which will be used for more builds, but for now, I plan on changing out the box stock air bag suspension for the 3d Concepts Hendrickson HN heavy duty suspension .. it comes in 5 pieces , the frame bracket, the walking beam and 3 ‘rubber’ blocks. I think this set will really change the look of my truck. I had to make rear end hanger brackets and I ‘roughed’ them out on some .020 sheet. My plan is to fasten the brackets to the suspension then fit it all to the truck frame then adjust hangers and add the drivers then clean up the hangers and file off what I don’t need. I ‘think’ I will go with this suspension but looking at the other one I bought from 3d , the Hendrickson HR/RS may be a contender as well … if you guys are interested I can show that one to you as well as the grab hooks and strap hangers…here are a few pics of this really nice set
  22. You guys have WONDERFUL ideas but like most of you, room is at a premium for displays…. Display of this is still quite some time away as there are a million and a half things that need to be worked on. I love all the ideas and input. Thanks guys and thanks for following along, as it goes
