  1. Very nice, Luke!
  2. Hey Gareth! These are what I was talking about. But you got me curious and I looked them up. They are the exact same thing (I think). Yum! Besides, food is always a good topic (if not "off" like you said)!
  3. Gareth, are "Maltesers" like Malt Balls? I admit I am ignorant of that particular sweet.
  4. Thanks for the photos, Guido! There is even one with the door open. Oddly, it looks exactly like a door latch on a house door. I would have never guessed that. Paul, I was actually thinking of just cutting a piece of stretched sprue the width of the hinges (the top one being smaller) and just gluing the door in place permanently. I was trying to figure out how to make hinges, and actually trying to still figure it out. Thanks for the help gentlemen! I appreciate yall.
  5. Thanks Paul! I was going to, but I figured that I would try one door and see how it works out. Also, I got a little nervous about it because cutting that door out really weakened the entire port side of the vehicle, leaving a small strip of plastic at the bottom that ran from the front bonnet to the quarter panel. I was worried that if I tried to open the other door, I would break one of the small bottom strips. So.....baby steps. And, yes, I really like to build stock. I don't really like chrome or flash on vehicles, so stock is usually less flash. No, the louvered trunk lid will not be featured. Guido, I would appreciate that very much. I was going to look for the door edges, cause I have to start figuring out how I am going to do that. Looking forward to seeing the photos, amico mio.
  6. Thanks Carl! I really put some effort in her!
  7. Jouko, thanks for the LARGE photos. I swear that I could not make out the emblem and had no idea it was upside down. However, you taught me something that I thought I learned in the Navy....attention to detail. Thanks again for the assist.
  8. Ciao everyone! My next project will be the 1932 5-window coupe from Revell. My only problem is that I can't build it straight stock. I don't have the parts box sufficient to replace the engine and wheels. However, I will build it as modestly as possible. AND, I am taking baby-steps into detailing by opening the door on the driver side, which will mean that I will have to detail the door with at least a latch and post. I told you, "baby steps." Check it out and any suggestions or comments are welcome. Hopefully, I won't install anything upside down.
  9. Wow! Thanks everyone! Yeah, the color really has been the "hook" on this particular model. I think it was Gareth who has been fixated on taking a bite out of this car. It does look like a shiny block of chocolate. Jouko, the side vent windows don't appear on the box examples, and I actually installed them at first, but then removed them. I just liked the more open windows. Now, I just messed up getting the emblem upside down. I didn't even know there was anything on it. In fact, I blew up the photo of the emblem as big as possible, and STILL can't see it! (Old eyes). But, you are right, I sure enough got them wrong.
  10. Thanks Ray! No, the chrome is not correct. The center stripe down the hood isn't correct either. To be honest, I just liked it so I went with it. I could have done a better job of dovetailing the edges of the window chrome, but hey, lesson learned.
  11. Thanks Mark! Yes, sir, the muffler tape is very easy and forgiving. I also think that it looks more realistic. I used to use it on aircraft panels, and I always thought that it looked real.
  12. I loved this kit! It really put itself together, and I would recommend it to anyone that just wants a fun, pretty build. It's rattle can paint that I sanded down with the Detail Master Polishing kit (which works great). All chrome is either out of the box or muffler tape (my version of BMF). I posted a buildup in the WIP section. Thanks for taking a look and any suggestions/criticisms are welcome.
  13. Finally got it finished. I am very happy with the result. Perfect? Not really, but that's because of my limits, not the kit's'. I posted the finished model in the PAU section. Thanks for taking a look!
  14. Well said, Steve. And conversation, no matter how banal, would explain why I'm here.
  15. Matt, that is some really excellent work. Love everything about it. The figures look natural, the fence is a wonderful touch, love the vehicle. Even the groundwork looks realistic! My compliments, Sir. (Kind of makes me wish I was back to making 1/35)
  16. Steve, I could not agree with you more. Well said!
  17. Nice Lincon! I see that my sister-in-law is driving. Neat.
  18. Welcome Gunnar! We all look forward to seeing your models!
  19. Ciao Enrico! Oh, the beautiful city of Torino! Welcome and enjoy. I like your big rig by the way.
  20. Wow, what a beautiful car, Roger! You were right on all points (roof, interior, etc.) but I find the colors most remarkable. Wonderful choice and perfect execution. Bravo!
  21. True words, Carl. Thanks for the compliment.

Very nice build Lincon! Keep posting!
  23. Jason, that is a beautiful car! You did great with the color, inside and out. Absolutely gorgeous.
  24. I love it, Randy. Realistic looking weathering and just the right amount of rust and dust! Great job!
  25. Wow, photos really reveal the flaws/weaknesses, don't they? I didn't realize how prominent the armrests were until I saw the photo. I really should have hollowed them out to look better. I also thought that I did a better job on the seams on the front seat. Now looking at them, I can still see the joints clearly. Chalk that up in the "learning" column.
