  1. Cool! Looks right out of the 50's ready to take on an equally cool looking rod on the blacktop!
  2. Very nice. Awesome paint job, the colour really suits it.
  3. Really nice job on this. I never heard of Mod Squad, had to look it up, your build looks exactly like the car in the show. Nice work!
  4. Very nice colour, nice job on the foiling too.
  5. Beautiful looking Impala, I really like that plain beige stock look. Loving those wheels, very nice job.
  6. Man, that's nice! I love the custom options fitted on this. Very nice build, and cool looking colour.
  7. I like this, very period looking racer. Outstanding job, very nice.
  8. One thing that always lets down my builds is the script badging on the bodywork. They're so small I find it impossible to paint them to a tidy standard. I have seen one method where foil is laid under the paint and then removed with a tooth pick using thinners, I tried it and doesn't work for me. First time the foil turned black and kept staining the surrounding paint, and the other time I removed too much paint leaving the entire square foil patch visible. Is there an easy way around this or is it just one of those jobs that every builder dreads?
  9. Thanks, guys, I always appreciate the comments, one of the best parts of the builds! I have to ask, what is the issue with black paint I read on so many threads? Does it not lay down too good or is it because black shows all the flaws in the bodywork? Black is the only colour that lays down like glass for me with little polishing, no orange peel and no clearcoat, I never get any trouble with it. Metallics are the paints I usually have problems with.
  10. haha, and the cannon out the window! Love it!
  11. Thanks, Charlie. I was going to go with black on the interior instead of the beige, looking at it now I wish I did, but at the time I saw one on Google images with a tan and white interior that I liked. Yeah, I'd love for Round2 to release more forgotten promo models but as mentioned it would be quite the surprise for someone expecting modern tooling. A "Promo Series" would be great like the "Snap-tite" series they do, you know what you're getting with Snap-tite kits.
  12. Thanks, David.
  13. I like that green four door. Red with a black boot was one of the colours I was thinking of doing, I'll probably use that combo on the next one I build.
  14. Thanks, David. It's one of those kits I want to get a couple more of! There's a few different colours and versions I want to do.
  15. Thanks, Sam. Yeah, I love these basic kits. I like the '58, the front grill treatment looks less fussy than the '59.
  16. Looks great, I'm liking the colour. Every boy racer in the 80s and 90's had one of these. I took a ride in my mates 2.8 injection back then, scariest ride I've ever been in!
  17. That looks great, love the roof rack, nice colour too. Is that an alien wearing goggles in the driver seat? Lol
  18. Very nicely done. Great detailing on the interior, and the body colour is very striking, nice clean build.
  19. Beautiful. Love the engine detailing.
  20. Picked this up the other week after seeing some great looking builds of it, the 1959 Chrysler Imperial by AMT. There's basic curbside, and then there is straight up promo, which this is. It can be built as a hard top or convertible, and there's the option of custom with some really neat extras on the chrome tree. Lovely little kit, clean mould lines and nothing to really go wrong, though I did mess up a bit on the windscreen which "crept" before the glue dried and now there's a bit of a gap along the top frame. Although I tried countless times I just couldn't highlight the microscopic badge scripting to a tidy standard so I just blobbed some paint on them in frustration! The only annoying issue I came across was the decal for the dash clocks, it was so transparent that you couldn't see it when applied. It looked good on the sheet but I think the ink bled off in the water. Anyway, I'm very happy I got this one in the collection, it turned out looking awesome. Kits that are this basic are not to everyone's tastes as detail is very much an after thought, but anyone complaining that they can't be made to look as good as modern kits they're talking out their bum hole! Lol
  21. Thanks, guys, she's done. Super fast and super easy build, and looks amazing for such a simple kit. I'll post more pics in completed section.
  22. Polished the paintwork and started on the chrome work and dang, she's already looking good! Interior is pretty much finished and got the glass in. Only some small detailing left and this one is done. The hubcaps are nicely detailed in this kit and separate from the actual wheels which can be painted body colour leaving a nice clean line around the rims when the caps are fitted.
  23. I don't have any unfortunately, I'll have to take a look online. I have been meaning to get some, seeing builds done with flocking, the interiors look so much nicer.
  24. I find it easier to mask off larger areas than it is to mask narrow sections like the pipes... and masking tape is cheap as chips.
