  1. I got them on sale at one of those bargain warehouses where they sell out of date and defective items for a few quid. I looked online and they are available on ebay but in the UK. Here's a link, but postage to the U.S might be prohibitive, though you never know, I've bought smaller items myself from the U.S and postage wasn't a killer. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333643288516?var=542739281007&hash=item4daeb08fc4:g:5OIAAOSwdg9fMSX5
  2. Regarding American cars, I'd say the early to mid 60's produced some of the most beautiful looking cars, especially Chrysler products. The flamboyant 50's fins and ridiculous amounts of chrome were pretty much gone and the boxy bland land yachts were a few years away. In the UK I'd say the early 70's was the best time when it came to good looking cars, same can't be said for their reliability though!
  3. Looks exactly like the colour I use on dash panels I make for a classis car owners club. It's called gunmetal grey by Auto Extreme, looks nothing like grey, more like grey primer with a blue hue to it. It's actually a pretty nice colour. I did the carpet on my recent build with it. I bought a job lot of twenty cans about two years ago, I think they're still available.
  4. Cheers, David.
  5. Thanks, Ari. That's great, welcome to the hobby! The colour is Peugeot Moonstone Blue, interior colour is Rover Damask Red. The primer is just regular grey primer. All the paints and lacquer I used are aerosol rattle cans from Halfords Motor Factors. It's their own branded paints but they're automotive paints using factory colour codes so should be easy to find if you don't have a Halfords store over there.
  6. Nice build, love the colour it really suits these old big Mercury's.
  7. Super clean build, I'm almost wincing seeing it on it's side like a real car, lol! Amazing detailing on the underside too.
  8. I like it. If I hadn't seen the 1990's movie I would have thought this would have been from one of the scenes. It would have suited the movie so much better than the Dodge they used, your build has the right comic book look about it.
  9. Very nice work.
  10. What a great looking piece for the shelf, I love it! Awesome looking build, it looks like something that could have been prototyped back in the day like the turbine cars.
  11. Excellent first time effort! Very nice job.
  12. That's cool. Very nice paintwork.
  13. wow, very nice build! Love the colour and the blackwashing of the wheels, very nice.
  14. Absolutely stunning build! The colour is beautiful, and the attention to detail is inspiring. These are the kind of builds that really motivate me to go the extra mile on my own builds. Very nice work indeed!
  15. Moving along nicely with this, I pretty much finished the body and then moved on to the interior. Lighting isn't very good but the seats and door cards are two tone. The interior moulding is very nicely detailed on this kit, so I spent a bit of time trimming fine strips of foil for the seat piping. It took ages, Lol! The dashboard in this kit is very nice.
  16. I never blew up any models as a kid but I did destroy a few die cast cars with my friends. Setting them on fire, bending them up and such and imagining we were the rescue crew saving the occupants, Lol. Sounds like Hero Syndrome! xD
  17. Stunning builds. I was a Pepsi drinker myself, but my teeth (what's left of them!) would just pack their bags and move if I were to drink any of those now!
  18. Cool, I did wonder if it was available over seas. I'll give it a try! Thanks for the link.
  19. Yep, my final achievement and goal in life.. I am pretty chuffed about it though, xD
  20. ? True that! I think if Round2 were to do a Checker cab they would probably manufacture complete new tooling, like they recently did with the International Transtar. From what I read, some of the tooling was missing and the changes needed were so involved they basically started from scratch working around an old unbuilt kit. I'd imagine that's more difficult and expensive than creating brand new tooling that doesn't have to work around existing parts. So there's hope for the Checker cab yet!
  21. Yeah, the London cab is on my to get list! Funnily enough, the mid 60's Checker cabs used Studebaker Lark hubcaps, a kit also made by Jo-Han which has the correct hubcaps. If Round2 have the Jo-Han moulds that's another part they wouldn't need to re-tool for.
  22. Thanks, Tom. It was a bit of surprise I must say. The first I knew anything about this was when I was randomly scrolling through topics and seen a thread titled "Congratulations doorsovdoon" Lol!
  23. Looks like a real working truck. Love the weathering and details like the rust stains on the bumper rivets. Very nice work. Those wheels look great too.
  24. So clean and detailed, stunning work.
