    Those are cool. What material is it? I used to scratch drawings into quarry slate and hang them on the wall. Reminds me of that.

    Got the paint on. The grey I originally was going for looked too dark and bland, it literally looked like dark primer, so into the stripper it went and a change of colour. It wasn't until after I painted it I realised it looks a lot like a Fire Chiefs car, or Ambulance! So that's the direction I want to go with this. I have close to the right accessories, like lights, siren, radio, etc but I don't have any fire or ambulance decals, and I have no idea what type of decals would be period correct. Any help will be much appreciated. I can get some made up at my local print shop then, or stick an add in wanted.

    I'm working on the '63 wagon now, I put those pins loosely in the hubs in-case of this very reason, Lol! I find they fit quite snuggly, when I eventually push them all the way in I know I wont be getting them out again!

    ahh, that's a shame! I just assumed Revell was part of Round2's inventory, so to speak. It would be great to see the Monte released again.

    I use hydraulic brake fluid in a tub and a fresh paint brush, it's worked perfectly for me. I don't know how good it would be on paint that's years old though. Non chlorinated brake and clutch cleaner is an ok paint stripper that wont destroy plastics but it's not as good as brake fluid. Methylated spirits, white spirits, turps ect, are pointless unless it's enamel paint you want removing, and depending on brand some won't do a thing, others will destroy the plastic!

    I don't have any duplicates, none unbuilt anyway. I already get "the look" from the Mrs when a shoe box size parcel arrives at the door!?

    Cool, I love the '77 Monte! I really wish Round2 would release this again, but with stock box art, maybe even a re-tool for an engine and detailed chassis. Ha, one can hope I guess. I'd be happy just to see it released as is. Such a nice kit.

    I might have a go at fixing them, I'll see how much hair I pull out first from fixing the apparent fit issues! xD I loved that show. They seem pretty rare in the UK, I think I only seen three listed on ebay. Cheers, Carl. I have wondered why I don't see many Chargers built on the forum, they either seem to be curbside or atrocious fit issues.

    I suppose my first ever ride was a pedal car. There was a muddy patch of land up the lane from our house where I'd ride in it to an abandoned 1-1 car, and then get in that and pretend to drive it! I remember the make of it too, it was a Hillman Hunter, so I guess my "real" first drive, in my imagination at least, was a 60's Hillman Hunter, Lol.

    Thanks, Michelle. Sounds like I'll be doing more than just test fitting on this one then. Re-shaping and maybe even some scratch building!

    Nice. I've always liked these, beautiful looking car and very rare. There was one rotting in a collapsed shed near me years ago. I tried to find out who owned it but nobody knew anything about it other than it had been there for years. It eventually disappeared, probably scrap thieves, and that was the end of that.

    I've heard nothing but bad things about the MPC Country Charger... so I went ahead and bought one! Any tips or heads-up before I build this? (I can already hear some of you saying, "yeah, throw it in the trash") Lol. Apparently, it really is that bad!

    I love looking through old posts. I spend a lot of time looking through past builds on here, a lot of them well over a decade ago. Sometimes the pictures aren't there anymore but I've learned a lot just from the comments. When I was building my first semi truck I probably klicked on every Kenworth Aerodyne post to see how certain parts were painted and what they were for. What I couldn't find on Google I found here!

    ah, right. At least they went on nicely, that's good. I've built the AMT version of this and it was surprisingly easy, though it was from 1987 so the moulds were still relatively new I guess. Your decals sound as good as the ones on my 1987 Kenworth, they laid down like paint, and they were 34 year old decals!
