I love that purple metallic, very nice. Another great looking build, Jim.

Beautiful build, awesome detail on it and I love the colour combo, especially that blue. Looks stunning, very nice.

AMT 1966 Buick Riviera GS with Chevrolet Rally Wheels
doorsovdoon replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
wow, now that's nice! Stunning job, love the wheels, they really set the car off nicely. Gorgeous colour too, very very nice. -
Trying some diorama ideas. This is very basic, just coloured corrugated card on a cake plate for now, Lol. My idea here is a kind of 60's showroom display.

Thanks, Helmut. Yes, the foiling was quite the grind on this one, haha. Thanks, Tom. Cheers, Nigel. Thanks, Tim. I have some diorama ideas in mind from looking through the diorama section, they really bring the models to life. Thanks, Lee. I tried that and it comes out too dark, with the flash on it just white's out. Even when the light is right it blurs the subject but the background is always crystal clear. I've tried three different cameras and I get the same results. Thanks, Dave. I think the paint is the same colour I used on my Buick Electra, it has a slight hint of lilac. Cheers, Eric. Cheers, Larry.

Black mold on ebay kit

Mold on the moulds! xD -

Cheers, John. Kind words indeed, thank you. On my laptop the pictures look dark, so I signed in through my games console on my TV and yes, they look ok surprisingly. I'll post the rest of the pictures later.

I'll try and take some better pics, these are way too dark. I can build a decent model kit but for the life of me can't take decent photos no matter how hard I try.

I've been wanting to build this '64 Belvedere kit since I seen the recent re-release but being in the UK they took an age to arrive, so I picked this older one up on ebay when I saw it. Great kit, I loved building this. No fit issues, everything go's together perfectly and it's a very nicely detailed kit. For a high parts count build it felt a lot more simple than what it is, probably due to how well it go's together. Body colour is Tonic Blue. The interior is two tone, Tonic Blue and Moonstone Blue, but only shows under certain light as the two colours are very similar. Awesome kit, I love it, highly recommended.

Calling this one done. Love, love, love this kit. Awesome detail and the fit is so precise, nothing to complain about at all with this kit. Decals were very fragile though, and I mean fragile, like they were old 1960's decals! Luckily there are only a few of them, decal sheet is tiny. I managed to piece them together when on the parts, otherwise amazing kit.

Thanks, Chaz. Thanks, Rusty.

I have heard those old slant six's are bullet proof.

Got a bit more done today. Been busy decorating this week so progress has been a little slow on this one, but it's nearly done now.

Looking really nice, the front grill has come out looking great with the blackwash. The decals do indeed look very good. Nice build.

In what vehicle did you learn to drive?
doorsovdoon replied to BeakDoc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I past my test in an 1980's Nissan Sunny. A couple months later I bought my first car, a 1971 Ford Escort for £80. It was a pile of rotten scrap but I loved it! Lol -
Very nice looking Galaxie. I'll have to pick one of these up myself, looks awesome.

Looking good. Paint looks to have covered well. I find black doesn't like to stick to high spots like trim lines and such, especially if I go too heavy at first.
-
You posted in WIP, so you haven't even finished it yet. I've built this very same kit and apart from the headlight bezels not fitting the recesses all that well it was a dang nice looking build at the end of it. Very old mould and simple kit yes, but definitely not lousy.

ERTL International 4300 Eagle
doorsovdoon replied to 1959scudetto's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Yes, that would be cool. I'm pretty good with art but on 1/25 scale models is all new to me. Decals can be hard to get in the UK and hand painting is pretty much the only alternative. -
Beautiful, loving the interior.
