This is an extremely informative site, so much so I liquidated my collection of paint chip books dating from the 1920s-1980s. The formulas shown on the scanned pages are outdated, but it at the very least gives you an idea of what colors looked like. PPG or Dupont(now Axalta) used to have a website with historical color chips that were scanned but I can no longer find the site. My bookmark is outdated.

Stopped at the Awful Waffle for lunch yesterday. This Beetle was in the parking lot, with Maryland tags, he's a long way from home!

Will have to check the local Ollie's while I'm out & about tomorrow. With any luck they have a few of these "new" kits. Not that I need any more!

My kits that I can't have enough of mimic the real stuff I've owned over the years- Model A Fords, 55-57 Ford passenger cars & wagons, C1 Corvettes Also have a weakness for the AMT '49 Mercs, any of the Revell '32 Fords & of course any old annual that's priced right.

The vintage tin & fiberglass was out in full force today, but only managed to get a couple pics of this Westfalia while out running errands.

The crossover first appeared on both truck & car versions in 1954, the first year of the Y-Block. 239 in Ford cars & trucks & 256 in the Mercury. The crossover was used anytime a single exhaust system was fitted. There are 2 main versions of single exahust exhaust manilfolds, early & late. The early ones are thinner(1954-1956) and the later ones(1957-64) are wider and actually don't flow too bad. The 50s era Lincoln/heavy truck 279 & 317 used a similar mounted crossover as well. Heavy truck ram horn's exhaust will not fit on passenger cars as it interferes with the suspension.

They scale out around 1/20. In addition to the Model A's, they also did a series of 1932 Chevrolets, Model T Fords Packards, Duesenbergs. Gabriel later issued these kits and in the late 80s JE Scale Models got the molds. I'd love to know where they are today. Local thrift store that I frequent really came through today. Proof even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while. As some of you know, I'm a big Model A guy. I collect Model A kits, especially the old Hubleys. I buy all of them I can find. This one followed me home for $10. Missing the instructions but the all important screws(Hubley kits used oddball sizes and thread pitch) are there & complete.

I hope someone makes aftermarket parts such as '59 & grill & hood. I'd love to be able to build a replica of the '59 F-350 I had. Very excited for this kit to hit the shelves. A squarecab kit has been sorely needed.

A Crown Vic is one of those cars that look good, stock, custom, etc. If there's one car I have loved since day 1, it's 1955 Fords. My Dad had a bunch of them over the years, I've owned around 30, everything from Wagons, Sedans, Hardtops, and a rough as a cob Courier. My Dad had a black & white '55 Crown and a yellow & black '55 Ford Convertible that my mother would drive us to school in often. I have a pic of the Crown somewhere, but here's the convert.

A couple I was able to get photos of. Now that the humidity level is dropping here on the east coast of FL the goodies are starting to come out more.

The sheet says the decals are printed in Italy. My bet is they're made by Cartograf, in my opinion the best in the business when it comes to decals. I've used quite a bit of them on aircraft.

I didn't post any of the OT stuff, but here's a couple more I have. Usually this show has a pretty good selection of car/truck kits in the vendor section, but it was kinda lacking this year. Still not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning.

1942 Desoto. Pretty rare!
