  1. Very nice! A clean build. Rockford Files is one of my favorite TV shows, even if I wasn't around when it originally aired. Supposedly the "OKG" in the license plate stands for "Oklahoma Garner" since he was from Oklahoma.
  2. Anyone throwing them away, send them my way! LOL
  3. Here's an example of the new market Testors is trying to chase.....
  4. Sounds like they took a notion from Squadron on how to run a sale!
  5. They'd probably sell a ton more of the back issue disc if they put them on a flash drive instead of archaic CD's. Some newer computers don't have CD drives. In fact when I bought this laptop 3 years ago I had to hunt for one that did have a CD drive. A lot of my older photographs are on CD. I may be in the minority but since my subscription to FSM lapsed, I haven't subscribed to any modeling magazines. I do pick them up at the newsstand if they have articles of interest. Airfix Model World is a good example. They cover a spectrum of modeling(yes cars and trucks too), It is printed across the pond, but one of the few magazines that can hold my interest.
  6. While not a holy grail kit, but have been looking for one at a good price. I collect Lufthansa stuff and the livery is quite striking! This showed up earlier-
  7. That DC-3 is a nice kit! If you want huge try their 1/72 B-36!
  8. Another Model A kit came in Saturday's mail. Can't have too many of those!
  9. I got another kit in the mail yesterday. I'll post a pic when I get home later.
  10. Yesterday's arrivals. The Cabriolet is actually a '31, not sure why Monogram calls it a '30. I've built 3 1:1 Model A Cabriolets, figured it was time to build a kit!
  11. Welcome! Good to see another Central Florida person!
  12. That would be interesting but not surprising if Fine Scale folded as well. They too are just a shadow of their former selves. I let my subscription lapse for that reason.
  13. I for one am curious as to what Atlantis picked up. I build space & aircraft kits in addition to cars. Also like kits of unusual subjects.
  14. Not surprised given how thin the magazines were getting. I subscribed to Fine Scale for years and it too is nothing like it used to be. I dropped the subscription last year.
  15. I've used the ones made & sold by Micro-Mark and had pretty good luck with them. I suspect the Archer ones are similar. They went on just like any other decal, let them set and hit them with a bit of Micro Set. I can't answer your question as to size, but the ones I used were for HO scale and I used them on an off topic rocket kit. I think G scale model railroad equates to roughly 1/25. That may be a good starting point. I know these decal rivets are big with the railroad guys.
  16. I owned a restoration shop doing nothing but pre-1965 stuff. I accumulated quite bit of literature & manuals etc. Over the years I'd put a little on ebay here & there. I finally got tired of messing with it and what didn't sell I gave away. Vintage car parts used to be a good seller as well, but it's nothing like it used to be. The whole thing with shipping can be a real profit sniper and it's usually on items you least expect. I don't use any ebay shipping program either. I box the sold items and still write the addresses out with a marker & take them to the post office. I suspect at some point the price of shipping is going to make buying off sites like ebay untenable. I did have a ebay seller message me tonight saying he'd refund me $2 for overcharging shipping on a kit. a holy grail kit at that!
  17. Canopy Glue, Humbrol Clearfix (can even be used to make small windows or lenses) are the main ones I use.
  18. Thanks for posting that link Casey. That was an interesting read!
  19. While not about the latest mould acquisition, but still relevant. From the comments in one of their latest posts. Is there any hope of manufacturing the old Monogram, 1/8 scale, Chevy 283 V8 engine? I first had this kit in the mid-1960s. Fantastic model. I really hope you can do it folks Hide or report this Author Atlantis Toy and Hobby You know we have the original molds for the red parts and black parts which are the deepest cavities. However I think it would be cool to recreate all the chrome parts. These parts were used for most of the 1/8 scale Big T cars. So we would have to make new molds for them. All the parts that came chromed in kit.
  20. These two came in the mail today. I still need about 5 more of each kit however!
  21. That is nice! Have never seen one before.
  22. That's insane! I've seen Floquil sell for that price or more. My Floquil stash from the late 80s is low but I'll be darned if I'm paying that. Maybe I should throw up some Model Master on epay & use that money to buy more kits.
  23. Yes sir that's a haul! That red oxide is my favorite rattle can primer. Use it on every build.
  24. My HL has the same old thing. Nothing on clearance, etc. I did stop in the Daytona Beach HL and found a AMT '61 Impala for $14.99. Used my coupon at the register and got a great deal!
  25. Nice! I have one of those Orange Krisp diecasts to do just what your friend did. I probably built 10 of the AMT '56 kits when i was a kid. Somewhere I still have a couple from all those years back.
