  1. I finally finished the Motown Missile. I became friends with Ted Spehar back in the '90's and learned alot about this car. I started with the Revell AAR Cuda kit, the paint is Testors enamel black with decals from Slixx. The engine is a Moebius hemi with heads and valve covers a Polar LIght funny car kit. The intake and carbs came from a Monogram pro stock kit (not sure which), which was a way to make my own high port Hemi. I took some creative liberties by using a 289 Ford fan and alternator to replace the big (heavy) Chrysler pieces and modified a dual oil filter mount into my own design dual distributor drive. I mounted a Lenco with gold lightning rod shifters (acquired in a trade) and made the traction bars from scratch. The hood and scoop came from Competition Resins.
  2. Finally finished this one. This is the box stock Revell Sox & Martin Cuda, save for resin Dominator carbs I got from a trade on here, the shifter from the Revell 66 Malibu and decals from Chuck's. The original plan was to be the Sox & Martin but I completely messed up the paint (grabbed the wrong can!) and settled on Grotheer's car which turned out pretty well.
  3. I don't think you should have done anything different. This totally looks like something you would see at some backwoods track back in the mid-60's. I think it is great.

    Rollbar

Needing a rollbar/roll cage with a taper at the B-post. Thinking something like the bar in the Petty 64 Plymouth kit.
  5. Finally, the weather cooperated enough for me to get the first one done. The Rice Holman Ford Mustang Pro Stocker. I started with the Revell Boss 302 Mustang and added Moebius' great 427 Cammer. The Old Pro kit donated the hood scoop (cut down to a more realistic height), ladder bars, wheels and slicks. The inner headlights were filled with the aluminum inserts from the Moebius AWB Plymouth kit. The decals are from Polecat.
  6. The decals are from Polecat. The entire build is pretty much the Moebius Comet and a Polar Lights Mustang funny car. I cut the floorboard out to simulate the engine being 28" back. I used the doghouse from the PL funny car to make the firewall assembly. I believe there is a picture with the hood off way back on page 1.
  7. I was finally able to get some time and the weather to cooperate to finish this one. This is the same Custom Speed Comet from above but with the correct Jack Chrisman body. Thanks to everyone that guilted me into redoing this one. I love how it turned out.
  8. Southern Motorsports Hobbies, I believe I bought them on ebay.
  9. Call me crazy, but I think it looks even better with the primer hood. Totally something you would see back in the day.
  10. Good eye my friend. I thought it would be a modification someone would try back in the day. Adding a box plenum to the cammer manifold.
  11. Got some work done on the Rice Holman Mustang as well. The cammer fits rather snugly, but it does fit.
  12. Making some progress on the Missile and thought I would share a couple of items. Decided to push the rules and go with a Lenco transmission. Thanks to RacheroSteve for providing the gold anodized Lenco shifter (perfect for this project). I also went with aluminum bucket seats. The wheel tubs from any AMT altered wheelbase kit fit perfectly and you can cut along the frame rail kick to get the perfect tread width with the wider slicks.
  13. The Joneic decals are from Polecat and applied nicely. The hood on the missile is from Slixx, a Competition Resins piece. Required a little sanding on both sides to fit correctly.
  14. Got the first two painted, decaled and mocked up today.
  15. I found this and my have some other stuff to go with it.
  16. I have at least one of those frames with some additional parts. Tell about the Boss 429 engine.
  17. I've already done the Dyno Don Cougar, but I will give you a hint on the Cammer. Your Ed Terry and Dave Lyall Mustangs inspired me build this one.
  18. Taking a break from Altered Wheelbase for a little bit. Started three new Pro Stocks this weekend and though I would share a sneak peak into what I am planning.
  19. You are my hero. You have a gift when it comes to marrying certain kit pieces together.
  20. I did receive a reply last night.
  21. I ordered from them on Jan 7th and received payment information the next day. I paid the bill on Jan 8th and still haven't received my decals. I have emailed twice with no response. What was that email address RattleCan?
  22. Now this is going to be an interesting project to follow. I have long wanted to build a Huston Platt car. Of course an altered wheelbase car would be preferable, but this car is the most famous and I really had no idea where to start. I am glad you are doing this one. I have considered the 1964 Chevelle, but haven't found the decals for it.
  23. I don't need the Mickey Thompson, but I do have the TV Tommy you can have
  24. Is this what you are looking for?
