Fremont Racing Specialties on Ebay. They are very nice and work really well. -
65 Altered Wheelbase Dodge - Sneak Peek
Altered Ego replied to Altered Ego's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I am planning to use the blower and injector from the Atlantis Fiat and the headers from a Polar Lights funny car on the Mr. Norm's car. I will probably just use the kit transmissions. I had the same idea for the Strickler standard wheelbase car, but I have an old set of Color Me Gone decals that may end up on the A990 version. I am planning a maroon Mr. Norms car as well, but have a Fremont Racing body painted for that build. I haven't decided if I will go that route yet or not. -

I used the Testors Icy Blue Extreme Lacquer. The Twister was indeed a sedan, an A990 conversion. Virtually nothing from the Moebius kit fit the Fremont sedan body when I built The Virginian, so I decided to go the easy route and just do a hardtop. You will see this one more time during this series, LOL. -

Awesome job, I especially like the 3D printed straight axle. I would love to have a couple of those for some builds I am working on.

Double Dragster Twin Engine Rail Overhaul

WOW, I thought the original was pretty darn cool, but the rebuild is substantially better. Nice work. -
This will be an interesting first build of the new Moebius model. Can't wait to see it finished!

PENNILE$$ II '62 Dart Fuel Coupe
Altered Ego replied to NitroMarty's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I am actually jealous of the Dart Gasser. The 62-63 Dodges and Plymouths have a uniqueness to them that make possibilities almost endless. Gasser, super stocker, match racer, etc. Can't wait to see this one progress. -
I pretty much only use Testors Extreme Lacquer and get as close as I can.

Burch Leal's 71 Duster & Billy the Kid Pro Stock Demon

100% with you on the decal issues on the Flash. I had the same problem and is really the only thing I wasn't happy with on mine. The Dart backhalf has me intrigued. I used the backhalf from the 66 Nova Pro Street which seems standard practice among everyone on here. Keep up the good work and you can see mine on Pro Stock Fun. -
Next, in this series, I opted to build the Wally Booth Rat Pack car. I opted to build the 1968 version, but put the 69 decals and Cragar wheels on it. Strictly based on what was in my parts stash. The Time Machine Chevelle once again donated the big block chevy. This required cutting the transmission tunnel out and replacing it for the bigger transmission. The tunnel ram came from the 66 Nova Pro Street kit and the rear spring shackles from the Old Pro kit allowed the stance to be close. A pretty simple and straight forward build. I am now going to take a break from this series and do some more altered wheelbase stuff.

“BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol # 49 BUTCH LEAL’S 1971 PRO STOCK DUSTER
Altered Ego replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Another issue I had was notching the white side stripes for the door handles. MW did a much better job than I did. This is a fun build and fairly easy with the 66 Nova tubs and intake. Mine is under Pro Stock fun. It's not as nice as MW's, but it looks good on my shelf. -
Hey Michelle, would the side pipes from the AMT 1968 Z/28 Camaro work? I have started a project with this kit and won't be using them.
-
In need of the door numbers for any JTG nascar car. Only need the red with white trim door numbers, any font for 1/25th scale. Have lots of stuff to trade. Thanks

I don't know how you do it man. I just built 4 Pro Stock cars at one time and it was mentally taxing.

And finally, the Butch Leal Duster. The same Hemi combination as the Vanke Duster except that I used the carbs and stacks from the Moebius super stock kit. The wheels and tires are from the Grumpy's Toy Vega. I hope everyone enjoys these. My budget and parts box really took a hit on this binge build.
-
Third, is the Arlen Vanke Duster. The Hemi came from the Moebius super stock kit. The tunnel ram and carbs came from the Grumpy's Toy Vega. Fenton wheels are from the parts box.

Nest up is the Butch Leal Camaro. This one uses the same big block combination except that I used the carbs and stacks from a Moebius super stock kit. The front Cragar wheels also came from the Moebius kit. The rear tires are from the Pro Street Nova kit and the rear Cragars are from the parts box.
-
First, is the Wally Booth Rat Pack Camaro. I used the big block from the Time Machine Chevelle kit. The intake is the tunnel ram from the Pro Street Nova and the carbs and velocity stacks are from the Old Pro Nova. The lightweight seats came from the Moebius Nova Gasser as did the ladder bars. The Centerline front wheels are from the Double Dragster kit and the rear wheels and tires are from the Copperhead dragster kit. Headers and front tires came from the parts box.

Inspiration for this series of cars came from Scott Eriksen's incredible Reid Whisnant Duster build, iangilly's great Motown Missile and as always, MW Elky's many superb builds. All of these builds started with the stock front suspension and floor pan. I grafted the rear clip and suspension from AMT's 1966 Nova Pro Street kit. I also used the rear package tray in place of the rear seat on all of them. All of the hood scoops came from Competition Resins and the decals came from Slixx.
-
Well done, my favorite part is the 16 plug heads. The Landy scoop works well as Ted Spehar's cars often ran Chrysler development scoops. I am putting the finishing touches on a build I think you and Scott Erickson will enjoy. Keep up the good work!

Scott, this is an amazing and you shared alot of great tips. You have inspired me to build something as well. I won't say too much, but am putting the final touches on a couple of projects. This is a terrific build.
