Nest up is the Butch Leal Camaro. This one uses the same big block combination except that I used the carbs and stacks from a Moebius super stock kit. The front Cragar wheels also came from the Moebius kit. The rear tires are from the Pro Street Nova kit and the rear Cragars are from the parts box.

First, is the Wally Booth Rat Pack Camaro. I used the big block from the Time Machine Chevelle kit. The intake is the tunnel ram from the Pro Street Nova and the carbs and velocity stacks are from the Old Pro Nova. The lightweight seats came from the Moebius Nova Gasser as did the ladder bars. The Centerline front wheels are from the Double Dragster kit and the rear wheels and tires are from the Copperhead dragster kit. Headers and front tires came from the parts box.

Inspiration for this series of cars came from Scott Eriksen's incredible Reid Whisnant Duster build, iangilly's great Motown Missile and as always, MW Elky's many superb builds. All of these builds started with the stock front suspension and floor pan. I grafted the rear clip and suspension from AMT's 1966 Nova Pro Street kit. I also used the rear package tray in place of the rear seat on all of them. All of the hood scoops came from Competition Resins and the decals came from Slixx.

Well done, my favorite part is the 16 plug heads. The Landy scoop works well as Ted Spehar's cars often ran Chrysler development scoops. I am putting the finishing touches on a build I think you and Scott Erickson will enjoy. Keep up the good work!

Scott, this is an amazing and you shared alot of great tips. You have inspired me to build something as well. I won't say too much, but am putting the final touches on a couple of projects. This is a terrific build.

It's almost like you got inside my head and built my dream garage!

Reid Whisnant's Pro Stock Duster

Loving this build Scott. Where did you find the Hemi tunnel ram manifolds and the Lenco shifters? -
Also looking for a set of Moebius headers from the AWB kit.
-
Looking for two Hemi type (individual runner) tunnel ram intake manifolds and a Lenco shift lever set. Have many parts to trade.
-
Very nice job. I love all of the cars of this era. The big question I have is where did you find the Speedwin Automotive decals? I am a big fan of Joe Jill and Speedwin Automotive.

Holloman & McKinney 1957 Chevy C/MP circa 1964

This is a pretty awesome concept. I love how you did the "shoe polish" lettering on one side and the professional lettering on the other. A nice way of showing a car transition over time. Very cool and nice job! -
Had an inspiration from all of the talented builders on here posting their great Super Stock builds. I had these two kits just sitting on the shelf and decided to make an early '70's Super Stock scene. The Fairlane is box stock, save for the front wheels and tires from a Moebius '65 Belvedere Super Stock kit and the rear chrome steelies from the Weekend Warrior GTO kit. The GTO has Fenton slot wheels and tires from the Coca-Cola '40 Willys kit and the intake/carburetor combination from the AMT 421 Pontiac parts pak.

Not to sound to much like a dork, but it was Season 1, Episode 36 titled Hor Rod Herman where this car ran at Lions Drag Strip. I love it and am glad you posted it here.

For this build, I took inspiration from bonehead23's amazing Twin Mill T and 426 Altered T builds. For the Tony Waters Roadster, I used the same AMT T body as bonehead23 and mounted it on the AMT Double Dragster Fiat frame. The front mount blower and 392 Hemi all came from this kit. The Ivo dragster used two Buick engines from The Showboat kit and mounted nicely into the Double Dragster frame. Aside from the kit chassis and body being Dragmaster instead of Scotty Fenn, this build turned out well.
-
That is well done and not an easy task. I am building one currently from the AMT Double Dragster kit and also used two of the engines from the Showboat kit. It is a Dragmaster chassis instead of the Scotty Fenn chassis Ivo ran, but is looking pretty good. Your idea takes it at least two steps further and the body work on yours looks much closer to the Scotty Fenn car. A very nice job.

The hood scoop and whitewall slicks make the whole thing for me. Nice job.

Finally got past Daytona rainouts, bathroom remodels and Corvettes breaking down to have some time. Made some progress on these two this weekend.

Great concept and a creative new way to build this kit. Easily something you would see at the strip in the '60's/early 70's. Nice job.

Sox & Martin 1964 A/FX Mercury Comet Caliente
Altered Ego replied to Scott Eriksen's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
You can see my build on Altered Wheelbase Fun of the '64 A/FX Comet I built. I used the Thunderbolt chassis, engine, etc and it turned out nice. The notable exception is a slight wheelbase difference. Otherwise, everything works nicely. I hadn't thought of the Moebius option. That is an interesting thought. -
Dick Landy Hemi Dart & the Billy the Kid Pro Stock Dart
Altered Ego replied to Maurice Henderson's topic in Drag Racing
Fantastic job! I really like the rear tire fit on the Billy The Kid car -
I have cut the scoop off of the Old Pro AMT Nova, but yours looks more realistic.
-
I love the concept of this car. How did you make that scoop? Looks like a perfect homemade aluminum scoop.
-
That is so cool and a real sleeper the way you packaged it under that scoop. Very cool
