Do you still have the Glidden car? If so, what parts are left in the kit? I am only looking for the engine, intake manifold, carbs and shifter.

The first flopper! Big Al II - Allison powered 34 Tudor drag car

Oh wow! I wouldn't change a thing. I think the green engine and maroon chassis give it a more vintage vibe. This is an amazing project. -
I love what you did with the two builds. That will look great on the shelf. I have been considering the same thing with my recent Color Me Gone AWB build.

I just sent you a private message

I think I have a set. Let me look and send a picture.

That is an impressive collection of fuel altereds. Maybe someone should start a "Show us your display shelf" thread...

Man, the hood scoop, stance and rear wheel openings are spot on. I wouldn't change anything.

Where did you get that intake manifold? -
“BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol # 94 BARRY SETZERS Pro Stock Camaro
Altered Ego replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Nice mix of parts to create this one. As always, great job! -
I love the build and love the creative liberties taken. Who's to say they didn't test an intake like this at some backwoods match race track?

Jerry, you said this is #38 in a 41 build series? How 'bout getting a thread going on the whole series? Maybe post one or two a week? This is an awesome idea and an awesome build! Great work!

This one has been on my build list for a long time and finally found a suitable (read cheap) kit on eBay. The AMT 1969 Cougar Eliminator was the base kit and the 427 Cammer was purchased from Pegasus Hobbies (Moebius). The tunnel ram came from the Old Pro and the carbs and velocity stacks are from the AMT 1967 Camaro mentioned above. The Old Pro leaf springs fit perfect and gave the proper ride height and the traction bars were leftover radius rods from the Double Dragster kit. Surprisingly, the Moebius hemi headers were a perfect fit. The front wheels and tires are also Moebius S/S pieces and the rear wheels are from the Moebius Nova Gasser with the slicks from a Polar Lights funny car kit.

This may not look like a Thanksgiving Day topic, but I did finish it on the dinner table about 2 hours before dinner. Someone posted this picture on the Milan Dragway Memories website and I thought, "Man, I could build that!" I started with the AMT 1967 Camaro Z-28 and used the big-block, headers and ladder bars from the Old Pro Nova. I used the intake and carbs from the 66 Nova kit. The American Racing wheels and tires are from a Moebius S/S kit and the chrome steelies and slicks are from the parts stash. The decals are from Chuck's and the flames are from Slixx.

1965 Dodge Altered Wheelbase - Landy's Dodge
Altered Ego replied to Altered Ego's topic in Drag Racing
I think the Dodge builds easier than the Plymouth. I am considering building two more of them. I think I have my sedan picked out. -
I couldn't resist encroaching on MW Elky's awesome Building The Covers series on this one. I had the advantage of this magazine and wanted to include it for anyone wanting to build this version. I deviated a little in the two tone paint scheme and Automotive Research lettering. I also included the Cragar rear wheels on wrinkle wall slicks. The stance was achieved with the spring shackles from the Old Pro Nova kit. I had also put a deep sump oil pan and remote double oil filter on this one.

I have finally finished the 1965 Landy's Dodge. I took some creative deviations from the original in the paint with the two black and silver and the Automotive Research lettering. I went with a set of wrinkle wall slicks I had in the parts box and put a set of Cragars on them like Landy did when running the wrinkle walls. I am posting this on it's own thread as well.

As always, excellent work my friend. I don't mean to impose on your thread, but I had to share this relic from my collection with you.

BUD FAUBEL’S TURBOCHARGER 64/65 DODGE
Altered Ego replied to M W Elky's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
MW, you are my hero. It seems whenever I have an idea to do some off-the-wall build and begin to list out the items needed, you pop right in there with the build! These builds combined with you Building The Covers series are my favorites on this site. Keep up the good work. -
Simply said, this is a badass project. I can't wait to see where this goes.

I love the project, have thought of this one in the past but just haven't done. It looks great and can't wait to see the finished product. Slixx has Casler on the Drag-On Lady 65 Belvedere decal sheet and Jardine is on the Don Nicholson Maverick sheet. I hope this helps.
