  1. Those look to be from the AMT '57 Ford
  2. Awesome build!
  3. Yeah, not exactly close. I was thinking of the Stroppe truck, just had the wrong name. Thank you Wayne for the photo link! That will be a great reference at build time!
  4. Oh, that looks so fine!
  5. Now that is stylin'!
  6. Look for it in the large "donut" box. Does Hobby Lobby stock car kits in that size?
  7. This is nuts! They could have taken some precautions to avoid damage to the posts. I don't have the kit, so I am presuming there is no special packing? No molded in frame support to be removed by the builder? So I am supposed to buy the kit, on faith that the framing is OK? I hope the next itineration of this car is the hardtop. If it was Moebius, probably. But, with Revell, doubtful.
  8. Should be easy enough. That armrest is do-able. But I am planning on holding out for a track car.
  9. I Google'd the interior of these. Looks basic enough to replicate with the right Evergreen plastic stock.
  10. No interior door detail? Nothing?
  11. Preston, that is top notch stuff! LRW is what's on the bench right now, hope I can get it at least half as good as yours.
  12. With the Molotow Chrome pen being so popular, I keep looking in Hobby Lobby to see what else they have for paint markers. Tho I have no use for a white pen, they do have this. Anyone try these?
  13. Considering it has a windshield and steel wheels, I suspect this may have been a development test run. Doesn't get much earlier than that. I hope to actually finish this one, so I may plan on going with whats in the box, plus the usual detail.
  14. Wish I had built that!
  15. Drives me crazy when I find so many variations! Check out the gold wheel wells, the aluminum colored front frame and leafs, white lettering, etc.
  16. How the Garlits Museum truck looks:
  17. Bought this over the weekend, decided to start now, not later. Never cared for the see thru door jambs, so I am attempting to scratch 'em. Question on the 1:1, from what I read, Bill Maverick built four of these. Yet, there seems to be a variety of setups and paint schemes. Did it get repainted and / or rebuilt often? And why is the one in the Garlits Museum look so different? The second pic, I am trying a tiny magnet in the body jamb, and a piece of tin in the end of the inner door panel.
  18. Funny thing about that, huh? Combine that with all the "meh" comments here, and... that equals one weird marketing strategy.
  19. Why don't they just call them reissued reissues? Or re-re-re-re-re-re-reissues?
  20. Nice take on the late model Camaro. Does make a great squad car.
  21. Is that a printed red ring on each wheel, or a reflection?
  22. Well, to be fair, not many of us ordinary car guys are all that adapt at ID’ing the differences in brand, much less diffs from year to year. But I do salute those of you who can. That’s a real talent you have. When I leave the house today, chances are, I will not be surrounded by the 85+ years vintage car makes such as Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, as well as all the later orphaned car brands. So guys like me, count on guys like you to share your wealth of knowledge in automotive history. Thank you much! Much appreciated.
