Looks great. Good color choices.

What a build! Great job, Raoul. I wish kits came with two sets of white decals. So translucent.

Full size replica Model T hot rod
Jon Cole replied to Hammerdown's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually, that would indeed be a 1:1 scale model. But what does this have to do with the second photo? And, when was this built & photographed? -
A friend of mine is building a 1:1 Stude pickup, and he is a real good model builder. Where would one get a resin Stude pickup?

Thank you for all the kind comments!

Easy way to find that lost part in the carpet
Jon Cole posted a topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Using a vacuum cleaner to find a lost part in the carpet is no fun. Who wants to cut open a vacuum cleaner bag and paw through all the dirt? We just bought a Dyson V7 stick vacuum. No bags to deal with. Just a clear plastic container. Just empty it before you start to vacuum for your part, and if it's in that carpet, you'll find it. if you ever need to buy a new vacuum I highly recommend these stick vacuums with clear compartments. -
Please delete this.

everyone knows that a vacuum cleaner can help pick up small parts that fell into the carpet, but nobody wants to par through all that stuff to find it. You know cut open the bag? No thanks. We just bought a Dyson V7 stick type cleaner that has no bag. It has a clear plastic container that can be easily emptied. Just empty it before you start vacuuming for your part, and when you're done it's either there or it's gone forever. No more wondering where it went. I don't know how many other vacuums have clear barrel type containers, but it's a handy feature for model builders. And everybody needs a vacuum if you have your own place.

First, I apologize if I had shown this before; did this several years back. It's a full kit, but (IIRC) a pre-paint metal body. I still managed to do some detailing. Wheels from a Chevelle wagon. Scratched belts & clips. Windshield banner, and "NOT BURT" plates done on printer. Scratched hood hinges employ one "hook" to hold assembly into slot in top of firewall.

What's up with the grill that's trying to be a figure 8 track? So distracting.

Perhaps for those that cannot get past the lightning bolts, just show this kit, with chrome reverse wheels. I don't have any convertibles of this, so I plan on buying it.

Mr. Rowley, your builds continue to amaze. Excellent. -
What did you see on the road today?
Jon Cole replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Last week, saw a Jetta UTE. A VW Jetta pickup conversion by Smyth Kit Car. Had a dealer plate. Culled the pic from the web. -
That Bird is about as sweet as they get! Fantastic build!

Not too many other model kits out there can get away with a b&w box art photo. This one looks great. IIRC, a Laurel & Hardy theme car had used a b&w photo, yes?

Nice, deep red. Accented by the deep offset wheels. Sweet work.

If David Letterman has a beard, I'm not going to badmouth him because of it. I never watched him. I just didn't care to. But I'm not going to slam him because of what he looks like. Besides, let's stop kidding ourselves here. His beard is just an excuse to slam him for his social/political views. Let's stick to modeling, eh? Or, whatever this thread started off as, huh? Have a Merry Christmas, everyone. Peace to you and yours.

So there is a truck manufacturer in Africa called Mobius (no "E"). If the model company "Moebius" made a model of it, we could have a Mobius Moebius. Or, a Moebius Mobius. http://www.carscoops.com/2017/12/new-mobius-ii-is-tough-and-cheap-suv.html

My '34 Ford Christmas truck, I believe it's the only one completed this year. Never did get any door decals like I wanted. Hard to make light text over a dark background. (Edit) Looks like I still need to hunt down the door handles, and mirrors.

Nice save, indeed!

Site Update Complete
Jon Cole replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It appears that signing in* is necessary to reset. Once done, all is good. * or should I say, re-signing in. -
Dave Van, I see the pics distorted as well. However, I view everything on my 'puter @ 125% screen view. If I reduce the view to 75%, they are no longer distorted. So it may be a photo size issue.
