This happened yesterday in Weymouth, Ma. I cannot even tell if it was a coupe or a roadster? WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- A car made a crashing entrance into a home in Weymouth, Sunday, crossing four lanes of traffic, hitting a pole, and crushing an antique car -- all while in reverse. It happened on Route 3 in Weymouth. Phil Drummy, the house’s owner, said he was inside at the time and the bumper landed just three feet away from him. “I do feel lucky, I’m going to go play the lottery right now,†he said. Weymouth firefighters said the driver was southbound on 3A when he hit a pole. The car then reversed across four lanes of traffic and went airborne into the window, also crushing another car and a motorcycle parked near the home. “It’s an absolute miracle on a Sunday afternoon that nobody was seriously hurt,†Deputy Chief John Haslam with the Weymouth Fire Department said. “He said he blacked out,†one witness said. “He had to have, because he was at high speeds, so he had to have blacked out because there was no braking.†“He said he was sorry, he didn’t mean to do it, and he said he got a new car and it had something to do with having a new car,†Drummy said. The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Police were still investigating what caused him to lose control of the car.

Speaking of superglue, I like the 'thick' stuff from Mercury Adhesives. I have also used Zap. The thick stuff does clog in the tip. I try to prevent this by keeping it upright when not in use, as well as tapping it down when I do upright it after use, then I squeeze; wipe clean the tip, then let go. Eventually it still clogs. I use drill bits in a pin vise to open it up, once it is dry. But last night, I couldn't get it opened, so I chucked a drill bit almost 1/16" and really opened it up using a moto tool! I had to continually clean the bit using a dental pick & acetone, but at least I got it opened up.

The "fastback" 2D with the large rear window is referred to as the late version; the Monogram car is the early version, which fewer photos exist. MK; the link u posted is to a diff car, the 2E... diff body, & aerowing on pillars.

"Researchers at Ohio University are finding success in extracting energy from human urine, enough to power a model car and soon, entire buildings." I bet that model car just whizzes along! -
Niko, I don’t think you want to fill in those seams…

Welcome back to the hobby. Yeah, if you need to reinforce something w/ glue, that sends up red flags. Lots of builders use more than one type of glue. Try experimenting with superglue (it WILL glue your fingers together if not careful), and 2-part epoxy, which is my favorite. Two equal sized drops on a scrap, such as tin foil or whatever... stir it up with a toothpick. The "5 minute" stuff is workable for a 3 or 4 minutes, and holds so much better than plastic glue! Plus, if some epoxy gets where you don't want it, wait until it is semi cured, and peel it away with a toothpick. It's great for installing windows. Hope some of this helps. We like to help!

After 4 days, the paint is well on its way to being cured. That is how the paint most likely chipped.

Nice!Nice!Nice! What I really like is the hood treatment, and you added stops in the door jambs... something sooooo overlooked! How do you get your stacks so true? Are they mounted in holes made w/ a drill press?

Model building. Cheaper than paying a psychiatrist.

And in the case of GM, it's just a cool sounding name they likely used without much research.

I want to build a model of my employer's '02 handicap transport. I had the die-cast, shipped it off to a certain caster. Wish I knew then what I know now about his reputation. Never saw it again. I think I bought another one, but it's downstairs in the jungle somewhere. Guess I will carve a buck for the hightop, and vac-u-form it. That was a nice van. Had a bench in the back; but the center was open for wheelchair tie-downs. The power lift ramp was a real rattler tho. -
I thought it might be a vintage Ferrari, with no luck.

Do subscribers to Rod & Custom get this, or is it "extra"? -
You can’t do this, and I hate those who say that. We don’t need that, and you should just go. He doesn’t like that, and you should just leave. I don’t like cryptic, it’s my pet peeve. You just want attention, I know others agree And besides blah blah blah. And if you blah blah yap yap, Why don’t blah blah blah blah. So yappity yappity yappity yap. And blah blah blah your trap. Meantime, I’ll go warm up the waaambulance.

Are We Model Hoarders?
Jon Cole replied to mrmike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ditto. This (person I know) entire second floor is stuffed with kits. Walls are stacked from floor to ceiling. The rest of that room is all shelves, also stacked up to the beams. Both levels of his two-car garage/barn are packed. You can park a car in each bay, but the walls are covered, except for a workbench. The staircase between the two barn floors is unpassable. In the main house, a few walls are covered. I would say about 1/3 of the open shelving in his kitchen is stuffed with Dupli-Color spray cans. His work bench is between the kitchen & living room. It too is surrounded with kits. A year ago January, I fell down his main staircase. Broke my ankle. Fortunately, his wall of kits, and boxes of spare parts prevented me from slamming into the wall. I remember picking up wheels and other parts off of myself, and the floor. I would say the house contains between 7000 to 10,000 kits. Now THAT'S a hoarder. -
