  1. Loving wife? Yeah... OK. I have to smuggle any purchases in the house. I learned the hard way never to bring her into a hobby store. I prefer to keep her nagging verbal assaults out of the public eye. I actually start to imagine that there is a ball & chain around my ankle. When I show her a finished model, I get a... not sure, it's a cross between a "hrumph", and "that's nice". Mumble, mumble. Ya know? Some ppl go to zombie movies. I live with one. Oh it's so much fun. I try to get revenge whenever I can. She will "watch" TV, but she is really reading her book... and I love to start talking to her about what "we" just saw, knowing full well she missed it all!
  2. Or... When you open up a 'reply' window, there should be a choice of "tools" above the box. Do you see the "smile" emoticon? Well, two spots to the right, you should see a box. Click it. That... is where you can post the url for the pic. In FOTKI, open the pic you want. See the tool selection above? Click on "share". Then paste it like I mentioned above.

  4. Even if a few kits had bogus info on the instruction sheet, it would still be a huge minority. Most kit instructions are quite useable, or can be understood well enough so any competent builder could solve any problem. I mean, one of the gifts from model building is problem solving, right? And then there is the childhood to adult transition. What worked as a kid, doesn’t mean it will, or even should work as an adult. Chucking the instructions aside; picking parts off runners at random, rushing to get a model finished before supper, and basically building without a plan are all errors that should be avoided. Any build that is rushed will usually show it.
  5. Sounds like the kit tooling is shared with several versions. I have the Sox & Martin car, but I believe it was also released as a factory stock.
  6. Chuck- I have seen that video... and it is amazing that someone could hit a car, pushing it down the road without even being aware!
  7. Again, a Q... on the open cockpit prototypes, why is there a small blue light in the front of the seat / headrest area of the empty seat? And to expand on that, there is a series of colored lights on these cars. Anyone know the purpose?
  8. Not a good day for AUDI... at least so far.
  9. Be healthy. Eat right. Don't smoke. Don't drink. Don't eat meats. See your doctor. Get lots of tests. Exercize. Stay fit. Get hit by a bus. Die anyway. Notice that everyone in the afterlife is laughing at you for not living life to its fullest.
  10. I love it when ppl don't read instructions. Gives the rest of us something to laugh at. If you don't read the instructions, what do you expect?
  11. 33 stills from the Allan McNish crash... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11-race-cars--trucks/24-hours-of-lemans-2011/ "And they walked away" BTW, now that night racing is in play, the Peugeot cars... illuminated numbers... from within! Very clever. EDIT: not just Peugeot!

Nice build! I am wondering if that color is raw plastic, or if you painted it? Opening the hood came out nice, I would be interested to know how you did it. Is there an underhood insulation? On the 1:1, the top of the hood also folds up along the center. I haven't mastered any of that yet, always willing to learn. Oh! Also nice touch on the pinstripe!
  14. On replay, I noticed someone next to a small scooter duck. Just amazing how he and everyone else was spared. The crash looked real bad.
  15. What is a '32 Ford "Sports Coupe"? Did Henry have them add a chin & rear deck spoilers?
  16. Really nice on the paint! Overall very good. You ask for opinions, and the first thing I noticed on this (as always on contemporary cars) is the lack of blackout on the windows. Guidelines are provided on the inside, so all you need to do is use a Sharpie marker to black out the edges; again, on the inside. Other than that, very nice.
  17. Well that blows. What on earth are the chinese putting in the metal? Sounds like the best thing to do (in the future) is to use the original finish as a base; just sand, clean, and top with a primer/sealer.
  18. Off to a good start! Keep posting updates.
  19. Wow! Looks great! And the headlights appear to be lit! Nice effect.
  20. Hey! That really does work! Creative.
  21. Can you post when this (will be) on TV? I rarely watch, because I never know when it is on.
  22. Is there a way to make "View new content" the default?
  23. Candy Apple Red, indeed! Make sure nobody sinks their teeth in that! Nice!
  24. WoW! That... is above... and beyond... cool! It looks like you could be building these in 1:1 scale!
