  1. Model building as a hobby isn't just buying kits. A true hobbyist also stocks up on supplies such as paint. I have more paint than I will ever use, just like the kits. And like the kits, it takes time. I think if you really want to build a model you already have, you can find a way to buy a can of paint.
  2. When I read "Rat Roadster", that... was not what I expected to see. I was thinking "rat" as in overall style. Having said that, no complaints from me! Hope it's a 'standard' scale, as opposed to large. If there is some new parts tooled up, I don't see that as a budget breaker for Revell. Modified reissues are common fare for model companies.
  3. NICE! NICE! NICE! I want to build mine... just like that!
  4. Other than a few VW's...
  5. I go with "model"
  6. Mine must still be on the way...
  7. It's different; it's unusual; and it's nicely detailed!
  8. We see so many built models with the hood either not sitting down where it should be, or it slid out of position. True especially at model shows, when the photographer has a lot to do, and takes the pic with the hood sliding forward. Some kits have hoods with slight warps. Rare earth magnets come in a variety of sizes. I can get a pack of 100 magnets smaller than 1/8 for around $15. I plan on ordering some, and I bet there is even more that can be done with them.
  9. I already have the boxart for the Rampside!
  10. Revell currently has one, but it is of the '06 Concept car. A more current kit is supposedly on the way.
  11. Here is the two 1/25 scale die cast kits from the AG
  12. That engine bay in blue.... that is probably from a stunt mule. You could paint your engine bay blue. Or paint it green. Or orange. At one time or another, they probably had several of each! For the most part, EACH JUMP = a totaled car. The prop crews didn't bother to paint or detail anything that wasn't called for in the script to be viewed. If the hood wasn't to be opened, why would they care?
  13. To truly find the answers you seek… for accuracy of that DOH build, you must first jump an orange 1969 Dodge Charger off a ramp, catch at least 30 feet of air, then ace a perfect 4-point landing…. All while screaming “Yeee-HA! When you get discharged from the hospital, then let’s talk the need for accuracy.
  14. I'm guessing because he has a sense of humor, and having a little fun.
  15. That- is a great mod! Keep it going!
  16. Jim, this may be one of your best builds yet! That paint looks awesome.
  17. As the title says, any of the current new Camaro kits, are they of the concept car, or did AMT or Revell ever change the tooling to production car? I want to build a model for someone who owns a 2010 RS, and I just want the exterior to look right. Underhood not to important. What exactly are the differences? Since I took this pic, she has had the vinyl white stripes added. Thanks.
  18. Well, you could do Iike I did, and do an on-line "snippet" (if available) of that... Of course, if emoticons are not wanted, what else is not wanted? We went through sim. situations over at "Der Spotenlighten" sight, I don't want to see that again. I still believe in the old addage "A picture is worth a thousand words". Or at least a snick or a chuckle.
  19. Yeah, Chuck... u get your Kaiser as soon as I get my '64 Corvair Rampvan!
  20. Good deal, Doug! His loss; your gain! (Add emoticon indicating happiness)
  21. Ironically, the post is so old, I'm not even sure if Ismael visits this site anymore (wish he did) Beautiful car tho!
  22. Come to pappa!
  23. This site claims that there was no Hurst op in '70; reappeared in '72. True? http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/oldsmobile-442/oldsmobile-442-history.shtml
  24. Agree... this is a tough one. On one hand, there appears to be two diff. sources of light... the first, and most obvious, is the natural light from the horizon far off to the left. And yet, the front of that blower sure looks illuminated. A good photographer would use reflective light bounce. So, I will go with... "REAL"
  25. Moebius is in Facebook. Today they posted: Moebius Models Oh, Hudson should be shipping out of China within 2 weeks, sorry no freebies! 5 hours ago https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1333718607&ref=mf#!/permalink.php?story_fbid=235419846498326&id=152580141448964
