  1. Goes like heck... until it slams into the first thing the driver fails to see.
  2. Chalk me up for a "boring" ol' stock version. Blue, just like on the box. Just like the 1:1 around here.
  3. Well not 14... a few didn't come out. At least I got my "Albert Wallace style" pic...
  4. I took these pics of a 2010 Lonestar out of Quebec a few days ago. I asked the driver if he wouldn’t mind if I took a few photos of his truck… he hops over to me wearing one sneaker(?) Says he lost his other sneaker at his last delivery up the road. “How did you do that?” He said he always drives in his stocking feet. So rather than trying to turn that around in the middle of a small town, I gave him a lift to his last stop. Not there. We try a dirt pull-off about ½ mile up the road, and lo and behold, a sneaker is there! So he got his sneaker, and I got my pics. This is the first Lonestar I have seen stopped. Quite an impressive rig! Hope these pics are useful for someone. More in the next post.... FIVE pic MAX per post? OMG... it will take me hours to post 14 pics!
  5. I could try that w/ the company van, but instead of turbo whine, it would go "BOOM", then dead silence. Except for me... laughing.
  6. The #1 recipe for disappointment is to walk in to a contest with the attitude of winning. Even Charlie Sheen lost with that attitude. I would much rather win something, never expecting it, than vice versa. Often, it's the newbies. People who have never been to a contest, and probably never been exposed to things like this forum.
  7. Well, I would NOT call these "reference" photos.,,, that would be a complete photo study of a vehicle. Exterior, interior, engine bay, chassis, trunk, and detail shots. Photos to help us detail a model. I don't call one photo of a particular vehicle much of a reference. At least that's my opinion on it
  8. Creepy cool!
  9. Title says it all. Show was on Sept. 18 Hoping to view photos.
  10. You GOT to be kidding. Next time I'm in East Stanistan, I'll show the photo of that around. How you find these... beyond me!
  11. Wow! That is a fantastic build, Steve! I sold off that body to someone, I thought it was too much work, and the doner kit was expensive. Good stuff there!
  12. That's nicer than the 1:1 my boss lets me drive! As for the headlights, every one of that vintage (199- to 2000) are now fogged over from hazy plastic lens. Plastic headlights on a model... no problem. Plastic headlights on a 1:1... problem.
  13. Why not try PrintMaster v18, not the full version, but the CD? I bought mine @ Staples for under $10. American! Amazon has it now for $4.99 http://www.amazon.com/Encore-18930-PrintMaster-18-JC/dp/B002CMNUA6 It is easy to use. You can either upload a pic, or just copy & paste. Just beware... get this specific product! The company has since been sold, and their new stuff is not as good. Just follow the link above.
  14. A wild mid engine design like this needs a bright color, to 'make a statement'. Dark colors will hide the design.
  15. Dave, I found that image before I posted. Maybe I wasn't clear. I want to make a plate... my choice of digits. Thus the request for "blanks". Sorry if I failed to express that.
  16. I'm still waiting for them to arrive at the LHS. I ordered two sets. Should they be in stock by now?
  17. I need a source for up to date licence plate blanks, so I can make custom plates state by state. I already tried ACME, some of the designs (such as NY) haven't been updated in decades, or should I say, have up to date designs available. ACME not only doesn't have the current "Empire Gold" blank, they don't even have the previous blue over white design. Any suggestions? BTW, tho this is for model cars, it is also to help spot a bank robber... 2001 Acura (gray) NY reg. FPV9656
  18. Gotta be one of the best Nova's I have ever seen in scale!
  19. That... is nice+++! Your bro would be proud!
  20. Hope you bounce right back from this, Bill. Best of luck.
