  1. Ok fellows. This is the disaster that struck yesterday. I was trying to figure out how to attach the headlights to the body since my hands were shaking and the tape idea seemed like the way to go. I use a toothpick and put 3 small drop of glue on the back side and that worked out fine on the drivers side. When I got to the passengers side disaster struck. I had painted the headlights gloss black before I airbrushed the chrome on so I'm guessing the glues loosened up the black and it started to run plus my shaky hands help smear it. Now I'm screwed. Looking for suggestion on how to get this Tamiya Gloss black paint off the body color???
  2. Thank Carl. The headlights on the 41 are dome shaped so I don't think that would have worked on this build.
  3. Yeah, probably so but that's water under the bridge now. They have been airbrushed and installed and...I messed one side up big time.
  4. My hands where shaking to much and I messed up the passengers side big time.
  5. Unfortunately things didn't go well installing the headlights.
  6. I was setting here firing up my 3D printer getting ready to test some new resin and and Idea popped into my head. I'm going to be putting a white wash on the lens area anyway so why not use tape.
  7. I'm going to try a white wash on the glass area of the headlights but I think I've painted myself in a corner. Now the question is, how to pick up the headlights to place them on the body without smearing the Molotow chrome and getting glue on the body.
  8. Not much of the ole 62 Falcon left. Pretty kewl looking custom Carl.
  9. Pretty nice looking little Hot Rod Craig.
  10. I shot the chrome on this morning which is the chrome from a Molotow pen shot threw my airbrush. I didn't think about whatever I do to the glass will have to be over the chrome I just shot on.
  11. Thank's Steve. I'll take a look and see what I can find.
  12. Thanks for your input. That could have worked but yesterday I went ahead and painted the headlights gloss black so I could shoot the chrome on today.
  13. Man that's a good looking 34 pickup. I think a night pic under a street lamp would give it a sinister look. Nicely done.
  14. That's a good looking 53 Ford pickup. That purple and white really look good together.
  15. I've got the dash glued in and setting up. The door hinges I mad are a little tight and sometimes when I close the doors the spring back just a little. That's really bugging me. I'm going to airbrush the headlights with the chrome from a Molotow pen but I need some suggestions on what to do about the glass area. I don't won't to leave it all chrome.
  16. The LJ Torana and XY GT Falcon are looking Awesome there Luke. Nice and shiny.
  17. I got just a little bit done on the ole Willy's this morning. Doors have been hinged, Decals applied, and the Interior is completed. I hate it when they attach the headlights to the tree at the most visible spot. Going to have to airbrush some Molotow Chrome on both headlights.
  18. Pretty kewl looking builds there Scott. Welcome to the MCM forum.
