Don't mind a re-post at all Steve, especially when it's a killer build like this of a 41 Chevy pickup Hot Rod. Love the color and that 409 with the side drafts couldn't fit any better. Just a Bodacious buld Steve.

I have been working on this build since last November. Everything was going fine until yesterday morning I had a disaster when gluing on one of the headlights and the paint. I solved the problem pretty quick this morning by wet sanding and repainting the fender around the headlight and drug it across the finish line. Paint is Tamiya Blue Violet and cleared with Splash Paints 2K Clear. The engine is a BBC from the Iceman and wired. I cut off what little nubs that were there for door hings and cut new ones from a paperclip. I also got rid of the funky center hood hinge. Other than that it is pretty much out of the box. Yup, pretty kewl little gadget.

Only one thing left to do so I wet sanded it and gave it two coats of the Tamiya Blue Violet. Doesn't look to bad. I just may have pulled another rabbit ouf of my hat. I still have to try and glue the headlight back on. Oh boy....can't wait for that. I think I'll lay off the caffeine for that.

The wet sanding didn't do much so I'm not left with repainting.

Thanks for the info Luke. I just tried some Meguiar's fine-cut cleaner on a Qtip and it didn't touch it. Also tried some Mr. Color Leveling thinner and Tamiya X-20 thinner with no luck. I'm going to try some hot lacquer thinner. This may take everything off.
