  1. Ok gang, lets find out who the real gearheads are I admit I only got an 85 the first time! http://stevelyon.com/quiz.html
  2. Yes Zeb, there are two, not related as far as I know. There was Pete Brock who worked for "Ole Shel" and designed the Cobra Daytona cpe. and Peter Brock a world reknown racer from downunder. Ironically whose untimely death came while driving Superformance Cobra Daytona replica. And on another note here is a pic of some Panteras and a Mangusta!!
  3. He Zeb, Thought you and the other old Ford fans might think this neat look at the car door on the bottom: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160927
  4. Could it be a McLaren?? Also that King Cobra looks pretty good. Also are those pics from Shelby American Racing History?
  5. Ford pick ups from 57 thru 66 Elva MKIV sports racer (Elvis' movie car) Monopeds list as well as some jbwelda's Ferrari 250 Europa Full detail plastic Pantera any year! even a Mangusta! Modern Daytona Prototypes 05/06 Mustang FR 500C All above in plastic!!! plus the AMT 1/43 line ALL KITS!!! reissued!!!
  6. HI What do you usually build?
  7. Thanks! That Falcon combo sounds like a "HAIRY" ride and if you go with a top loader the pucker factor is way high!! I kow how you feel about the Y block I was at a metal scrapyard about 20 yrs ago it was a Y block with black valve covers which generally indicate a 312 Interceptor thought I had found a piece of gold until I turned it over and there was a hole in the side of the block you could stick your fist through. Any way my cousin bought it for about 20 bucks and sold the heads w/covers, intake and cam for 100 bucks and never told me thank you telling him about it !!!
  8. Here are some pics of a couple 512BB's that I was able to snap at a couple of Ferrari events in Michigan in the 90's the standard BB has a dealer installed wing and was for sale at the time for $90,000 and the racing one, well!! it was just plain cool!!! http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-1/1138377/512BB3.JPG Enjoy!!!!! note the copyright is to my photography biz.
  9. Revell did a diecast kit of the Bullitt Mustang in 1/25 or 1/24. HTH
  10. Actuall the 428 is an FE. You may be confusing it with the 429 which is from the "385" series. The 428 Cobra Jet was a 428 P/I engine with 427 low-riser heads and a different cam also a fair number of the "street" version "427 Cobras came with Shelby modified 428 P/I engines as the CJ wasn't developed yet in 1965-66. And yes not all 427's were side oilers but they had the largest bore of all FE engines hence the heads wouldn't work on the other blocks without notching the cylinders (not recommended also when the 427 production was kaput, factory replacement blocks were punched out 391 heavy truck blocks as they had thicker cylinder walls and the 390, 391, 406 and 427 all share the same stroke the only thing is the 390 and 406 had a cast crank, also of note some late 406's also had the crossbolt mains as all 427's do. The 410 was available only in the Mercury line for 66 and 67. Please don't take offense about my spouting off about the FE but I have worked on FE's for nearly 30yrs hence my fanatical ranting about them. I have also included a link to help everyone understand the "poor old boat anchor" which is also my favorite Ford engine family of all time http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_FE_engine HTH
  11. Yes they would I forgot about that one as it is an FE also some Tbird kits also had them and really other than bolt heads near the bottom of the block and an oil passage cast on the side of a 427 side oiler all FE Ford engines look essentially alike and there is quite a list: all are cu.in. 332, 352, 360, 361, 390, 391, 406, 410, 427 and the 428. HTH P.S. The Revell Mysterion has two FE "406" engines!!!
  12. As an aside you could use just about any 427 also, as essentially they look the same externally. The ones in the 66 Fairlane and 67 Comet kits are about the best ones out there.
  13. I believe the Testors kit is the Protar kit. I think
  14. Looks great I would like to find a couple of those kits myself very nice build a friend of mine has one in the same color BTW it is a 1:1 but his has tthe black rockers. Now if someone would do the last incarnation of the Pantera or an Xavier Jehle tuner version I would be a real happy camper and must be a full kit w/ engine
  15. Hey Gang, Here is the link to info for the 8th Annual K-Zoo Air Zoo model contest we could always use more auto related models here! http://www.ipmskalamazoo.org/xoops/modules.../index.php?id=1
  16. AAAAAAHHHHHHH, One of my faves. Great job, and may I suggest Modelhaus for your 289 cars hood as they have a stock style available.
  17. Yes it would be correct. The belts should be black I believe for period or blue for the one currently being seen at vintage events. HTH
  18. I was born the year that one of the baddest blue oval rides hit the strip!
  19. Nice models. The California Flash is one of my fave T-bolts!
  20. The movie Velocity with Jack Nicholson It is about a modern day SCCA type racer who has devil may care tude and this crusty looking guy that kind of looks like Jack starts to tell what the kid will end up like. The story is a flashback to an old beatnik movie starring Jack it is pretty cheesy.
  21. Please enlighten us on the T-bolt (one of my faves as are most things powered by an FE )
  22. I agree with Ray it does look better as a pheaton! great job Tom!
  23. Looks great, I too would like to see it reissued! How about it MR. Burkett it would alos look good w/Model King Racers wedge and trailer!
  24. Jet Black........w/ semi-gloss chassis color tuck and roll interior. Just my .02 pennies!
  25. Great news George and welome aboard I too have admired your work. On those Kelsey Hayes wheels the type found as an option for 66 and 67 Fairlanes?
