  1. Excellent work Pierre, Fortunately I stumbled on your thread before you finished the car. Your detail work is very inspiring. I have the Revell Jaguar D to build and will incorparate some of your technics in that build. Except I will be airbrushing the paint, I can't believe how smooth your brush paint method works...fantastic!
  2. Yah, I was talking to Paul also and he said the same...I'm trying to contact MFH, but no response, yet. It was good talking to you as well. I'm enjoying your build, c'ya!
  3. Love watching people build MFH models...I have built a few and just started on this one I picked it up the NNL West last June. I opened it up over a month ago and the photo-etch parts are missing. I have contacted MFH about replacing them, but have not got a response. Any help would greatly be appreciated, thank you "Keep on Building"
  4. You are correct, they did not race at the Speedway, but at the Indianapolis Raceway. Somehow in my typing my brain said Raceway, but my fingers said Speedway.
  5. Curtis Turner was banned from racing in NASCAR from 1962 through 1964. Bill France did not approve of him trying to unionize the drivers in NASCAR, so banned him. Due to dwindling numbers of people coming to watch the NASCAR guys, Bill France invited the popular Curtis Turner to return to NASCAR. Being banned from NASCAR did not keep Curtis from racing though. He competed in a number of USAC Stock Car and even a couple of Indy Car races. Following are a couple models of the cars he raced in USAC in 1963 and 1964. First is the 1963 Ford Galaxie he drove to a 3rd place finish for Holman-Moody at the Indianapolis Speedway on April 28, 1963. Second is the 1964 Ford Galaxy he drove to 20th place finish for Holman-Moody at the Indianapolis Speedway on May 3, 1964. Both models will be sent to the Curtis Turner Wing in the Virginia Museum of Transportation for display. Thanx for lookin'
  6. Well, actually don't know if they are still around, it was 8 years ago! I will look in my 1/16th scale parts bin to see if they are in it.
  7. Good Job Steve, was great seeing you at the "Spirit of Speed 7" show in Pomona. I'll be sending the Mustng and a 1966 Ford Curtis raced to the museum later this week.
  8. Stevie, you finally bit the bullet and joined the forum. Curtis Turners Falcon came out really nice. I hope to get that Mustang you started finished as soon I wrap up the Lynx2 car for Mark.
  9. Wholadoodles! What a piece of art. Mark you are an inspiration to all of us that build models. Your attention to detail and fabrication is beyond astounding. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing this model at GSL.
  10. Ted will take care of you. He has all my wheels in stock. I used to sell them on ebay, but got tired of dealing with their BS. I did have to raise the cost a little, My machine costs have tripled. I try to hit most of the model car shows on the west coast. enjoy
  11. Found Ya, you can run, but ya can't hide!!! Also forwarded the website to Teresi...he's going through "Trophy Withdrawal"
  12. On the way home from the last GSL in 2019, I challenged my buddy John Teresi to a radial engine motorcycle build-off. Not too bright on my part, I'm not even being close to being as good as John. But what the heck, it's only a model and it will make me kick my game up. We got our inspiration from a couple of bikes that exist in the real world. Our buddy Steve Allemand, 3D printed us both a couple of 1/12th scale 7 cylinder radial engines and a bunch of extra parts as well. So the journey began. You can find the builds on the WIP forum. Here are photos of the completed bikes. John's Bike: Curt's Bike: Here they are together on a base as presented at the IPMS Contest in Las Vegas. Their next appearance will be at the SoCal Model Show October 3rd and NNL West January 22, 2022. Thanx for lookin'
  13. Fantastic John, these photos are really really nice of our bikes! It was FUN!! I'll work on posting a thread in Under-Glass for the bikes.
  14. Dan, they will be there!! First unveiling will be at the IMPS Nationals in Las Vegas next month. C'ya

  18. Ya I got into this about three years ago... How 'bout a '69 El Caminero...
  19. Hopefully we'll see you in Phoenix next April...
  20. I've got two more of his NASCAR racers to build, the 1953 and 1954 Oldsmobiles. Then I will build the USAC cars he raced when he was kicked out of NASCAR in 1962-1964. Ol'Curtis did get around.
  21. The bike is 1/12th scale.
  22. Yep, I won it at the auction. Was missing parts, but Gerry Chevalier found the parts I needed. I think I built the 1st issue of the C9. Yeah, I'm still waiting for Teresi to build his radial bike!
