  1. I am digging this build for sure. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  2. Not much to report. Put some primer on it to see where I was at. I have a bit more work. Might give it a guide coat to help level everything out.
  3. There was a 63 Chevy wagon resin body when I ordered the Pontiac. sold just before I hit the pay now button. I was going to do a Biscane wagon with 409/4 speed wagon just like that. So cool.
  4. I have wanted to do this build for years. I try to imagine a family walking into a Pontiac dealership in the mid 1960s looking for a new car. The guy is checking out the GTOs on the lot, and the wife is looking for a practical wagon for the kids. The man and wife compromise on a muscle wagon. With that said I see the two sitting down with the salesman, picking colors and options. The question would be, is it realistic for them to check the correct boxes and get a wagon with the GTO package or is more realistic that a Tempest could be ordered with enough hipo options to make it close to a GTO. Instead of a full blown 389/4 speed/3.55, you get a optional 326/2 speed auto/ 3.23 final gear. I am fairly sure this will be a full-blown GTO build, but the idea of checking the boxes to get something close intrigues me too. I have started to fit the chassis to the body by cutting out the rear wheel wells, but the body will need a lot of massaging to get the tub to fit correctly. I am thinking of cutting out the floor and replacing it with the one from the kit so I can use the buckets, and console. I will probably only go that route if I build it as a GTO. If I build it as optioned out Tempest, I may keep the front bench. Color is still up iinn the air. I was thinking Mayfair Maize, Capri Gold, Cameo Ivory, Fontaine Blue. Either way, this is going to be a fun build.
  5. I got a Vics Resins 1965 Pontiac Tempest wagon body, and interior tub with bench seats molded in. I am planning to build a GTO wagon with this old kit I got at a flea market.
  6. Did some sanding today. Not much in the way of excitement, but I am starting to see the end result in what I have done so far. Filled in a couple places and continue sanding tomorrow. You can start to see the finished height of the ribs. I may go down a thou or two more, but no more than that.
  7. The roof is mudded, and the interior tub is extended. Please ignore the interior tub. I will figure something out. Maybe some limo tint on the rear windows.
  8. I had some time to get a little bit done to the cab. I had already glued it together, so it was time for some support ribs for the roof. Now the body work begins.
  9. That one also sports the Holden crest on the door.
  10. I loves me some 9c1. I have owned at least 20 B-bodies from 94-96 including 7 9c1s, and one 1A2 police wagon. Also owned a 2012 Holden built Caprice like the one pictured above. Here is a few of my cars. I had the 2012 painted, and new hubcaps installed, and it was car #24 of the Billerica, Ma. police Department. 6.0 L77/6L80E/2.93 Limited slip The single photo of the Grand Sport themed 1995 9C1 was a Pennsylvania State police car. 5.7 LT1/4L60E/3.23 GM Auburn limited slip from an L99 powered 9C1 The 1995 1A2 wagon was NY Thruway car with its original color. (Dark Grey Green Metallic) 5.7 LT1/4L60E/3.42 Eaton TrueTrac
  11. Does anyone offer services to air brush paint the exterior of a model projects for those who do not have the tools, or experience to do it themselves? I am great with a Testors rattle can. I even have a homemade paint booth. However, I have three models coming up needing air brushed camouflage done correctly, and I do not own an air brush kit, nor possess the experience to use it. Also, I do not want to camo the way I did as a kid. Back then I just hand painted it. I might break down and buy a decent air brush, and compressor and learn to use it in the future but for now I was wondering if anyone offers their air brush paint ability as a side gig? These would be the three. My own m1009 K5 3/4 ton An m1008 1-1/4 ton And a M880 dodge 1 ton
  12. This will be my third attempt at stretching a truck. The first, and most common was the crew cab boxy GMC from the Deserter kit as you mentioned That gave me the most problems due to being the first time. Then I did a three-door suburban with two Jimbo Jimmys
  13. It does make sense. I think once the two are mated at the door seam, the out of dimension roof line, and line in the back window will look better. There is defiantly a lump where the original C pillar was.
  14. So I had an extra body lying around and apparently talking with my Dremel about a play date with one of my kits. I did this with a boxy chevy, so this seems easier. Sort of..... Funny how the door is to scale, yet the rear window seems big. I have not glued the back to the front till I figure out what is out of whack. The roof line is another place for concern. I could not cut the donor roof any far back as the main roof was as far back as I could go before it turned downward to the back window. I actually cut that right on the line where the curve started. I think between a little heat, and some putty, I can make the mismatched roof line disappear. I may have to cut the door frames from the roof to get things aligned. All of this, and shaky hands. Good times.... I am not sure what the color will be. I was thinking about painting it white, or light metallic blue. It will be a W/T package as I already have the Iceman base grill.
  15. I would have bought a bunch of those over the years Had Revell offered it in stock form. Back in my Mustang days, the Mark 7 was the luxury fox body built off the T-bird/Cougar style. They were very cool with BBS wheels, and Recaro seat option.
  16. I seen them before, but now that I am looking for them, they are no longer listed.
  17. I know a few make grills. I have a ICEMAN work truck grill for the C3500 dually. But I am looking for stock 3/4 ton-1 ton SRW steel wheels, fender flares, and 4x4 conversions for both AMT 2wd trucks ATM make. I want to recreate my 2000 K3500 plow truck. I have the long bed from another kit with matching chassis for the 1500 sport curbside kit. I thought I saw factory style fender flares some place but can't seem to find them. Correct 8 lug steel wheels for the platform seem to be non-existent.
  18. I am just throwing this out there hoping someone pics it up. I for one would love to see a conversion kit to turn Hopper's Blazer into a military version. Obviously, the basics would be grill, grill guard, front bumper with shackles, rear bumper with pintle, and shackles, and antenna mounts. A step further would be a 6.2 Diesel. The last pic is of my 84 called "Sargent Rock"
  19. It also arrived in a bigger separate box. It was not just the best price on the interwebs, but it was well packaged too boot.
  20. I got this 1/8 scale Trans Am. Apparently not a model typically sold in the US. Got this one from Germany. Great price considering what I have seen. It will be a fun build. I think I will do an aftermarket 77-78 nose, and taillight swap to build a Bandit T/A. The T/A used for Smokey and the Bandit 2 was the 80 Turbo T/A. I actually built that one back in the early 80s. I will go nicely with my 1/8 85 vette.
  21. Superb builds for sure.
