What a great build. the decals must have been fun to apply. -
I did not know that. I assumed it could, but did not know that for sure. Thanks for the answer.

I wonder if spraying some Testors Xtreme Wet Look lacquer would make the chrome spray more durable. I use it for the shine, but also the durability. I am not sure how it would work on spray chrome, but it worth a test. Then the chrome is sealed.

Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
WillyBilly replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
A few years back I made a booth from a tote, and bathroom fan mounted on the back with a filter. I mounted it to a plastic cart and wheeled it to the window where I vented it out of. Then I added a LED light. It served me well for a couple years. Then the Stranger things Blazer from Revell showed up. I want to do a camo job on it, and rattle cans will not cut it. I decided that it was time to move over to airbrushing for detail work, and camo jobs. The old setup was not going to work, so a visit to a Salvation Army came up with a computer stand with an adjustable top. A stop at Walmart got some casters and screws so it can roll. The shelf below It was perfect to place to put compressor. So now I can have it at a more comfortable height too. -
Finally, after 50 years of rattle cans, I am taking a dive into airbrushing. Look for stupid airbrush questions real soon. No, really. I have no clue what I am doing.

Great build. I remember those kits. I think I had the Motorcraft kit. It was the only way to get a 85/86 nosed fox body. I love that you were able to get the decals to work. -
I have to make a decision. Spend $30 bucks on what I need to make the car look like a 68 or call it good with the modifications I have already performed. I think the only thing that will give it away will be the grill shape, and I think I can live with that.

Thank you As for the side markers, only the rear I promise, and it will be round.

I have purchased a couple Duster bench seats from Hearts Parts with good results. I will have to look at purchasing the 68 conversion. They show the Van seats being available separately now

After I built a fresh from Hurst L023 Hemi Dart, I thought about building a sister 1968 B029 Hemi Barracuda. Problem was I could not find a 1968 Barracuda. Just 1969s. So not really knowing the few differences between the two years I started gathering parts. I sourced a Hemi from another Revell Dart, and steel wheels from Fireball. As I found the MPC kit is not very well made or designed. Detail is lacking, but I was bound and determined to make it work. I did some research and discovered three differences. The grill, a hump on the hood, and front valance and the taillights. One thing I found interesting was the outer trim pieces for a 68 taillight was included in the kit. With a little Dremel finesse, I was able to incorporate the 68 pieces to the 69 taillight assembly on each end. I was able to sand most of the hump out of the hood, and front valance. The grill will have to do. The Dart was painted with Rustoleum grey primer, and satin black for the gelcoat fiberglass panels. I will do the same here. The only difference will be this will be an automatic car. The seats were cut from the center console and swapped from one side to the other to hide the opening, and the seat incline was corrected to be more upright. Here is a few pics of what I have corrected to this point minus the seats.

That is awesome. Right hand drive conversion is really cool.

Try asking this guy. His rooster tail/dust seems realistic I love the work. I really like the fact the driver is looking in the direction the wheels are pointed as it should be.
