1971 Ford F250 Ranger XLT 4x4
WillyBilly replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That F250 looks great. -
Actually, the white wheels look good. Maybe with white rally stripes. On the other hand, gold, or hyper silver for the rims would look great too.

Absolutely incredible. I looked at the pics several times thinning it was pics of an actual car and only noticed a couple things that convinced me it was indeed a model, and not the real thing.

Kermit My AMT Chevy Truck
WillyBilly replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice. I love the color, and wheels you chose. I made my own headlights by taking a pick of a sealed beam off a car parts site, shrunk it down, scotch tape on both sides, and glued it to the Iceman grill. I think it came out ok. You can see mine here -
Wow. I just said my wife thinks I have a problem. This conversation went sideways quickly. My wife knows exactly what to do with my collection should something happen to me. She will sell it off as a collection or donate it to an auction that supports the upkeep of an animal shelter. She also has an idea of value too. 1/25 scale = 30.00 per kit, 1/16 scale = 50.00 per kit. 1/8 scale = Arm and Leg per kit.

1985 Chevrolet K5 Blazer
WillyBilly replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I cannot say who, but I can say one of aftermarket companies has a 6.2/6.5TD in the works. Supposably by end of summer 2025. -
1985 Chevrolet K5 Blazer

Maybe a common swap, but not stock. They did have a 1/2 ton 10 bolt differential in the rear with eaton posi, and I think a Dana 44 up front with 3/4 ton springs all around. Mine was 100% stock the way it came from the factory in 1984. Minus a few things like camo, and grill guard, your model looks very close. -
1985 Chevrolet K5 Blazer

Wrong engine for sure but same axles, 3:08 final drive on the blazer, and 4.11 on the 1 1/4 M1008 truck. Both with gov-loc rear. Correct wheels too, 15X8. It would need a few things for military spec, but not far off. -

Outstanding. -
As a former plumber turned machinist, this excites me.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
WillyBilly replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You had me at Belair. I love all things B-body. Drivers mirror to body seal is backwards. The passengers looks correct. -
This got rekindled in 2016 with the purchase of one Pontiac grand prix model after 30 ish years away from building that I purchased at a yard sale. Now I have 40 built, and 185 in the closet, and an entire room devoted to building them. I try to explain that others have so many more than me, and that building, and collecting are two different hobbies. However, she is not having it. She thinks I should back off buying till I get some built. Am I crazy?

This is my current pile of bad decisions. It is faster than my 87 grand national, 94 and 96 impala ss, or any of my fox bodied Mustangs in stock form and is on par with both of my 09 Pontiac G8s. It is a 2014 Cadillac ATS4 AWD Performance Collection with a 321 hp 3.6 Direct Injected Dual overhead cam VVT engine. 5.4-5.6 sec 0-60, and mid 13.5-14 second 1/4-mile times. -
it be raining 1/8 scale 1985 Corvettes. Seriously I would never buy a duplicate model of this size, but I wanted one that was sealed and got it for a great price compared to the others out there. The one I originally purchased had some body damage that I was able to easily fix. It will be painted a different color. The sealed one will just be clear coated if I ever get the guts to break the seal.

It is very rare to see a scale model be confused with the real thing, but you pulled it off. Outstanding! The modern take on the tri-power is over the top. Absolutely amazing.

81 C10 4x4
WillyBilly replied to Rbray47's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That looks incredible. So realistic. The Revell wheels, and decals for the emblems along with the paint work together to make it almost fresh from the dealer. -
The black one is from 1979, and it is 100% complete and unbuilt. The Magnum one was from 1982, partially bult, painted, and missing parts and instructions. The cost of both combined was less than a 1/4 of what a sealed Magnum Ferrari sells for. The Magnum one had a bar code. The Black one does not.

Incredible job. -
Beautiful RX7. One of the best-looking sports cars of all times.

Great looking Subaru.

Three from a local flea market. The engine on the mustang was started, but other than that all intact. The 59 Impala was part of a series. I have the other two. One being a 59 pink Cadillac convertible, and the other is a 1955 chevy convertible. I think the Rolls is going to be a full blown LSX powered, big wheel sled as there is not much in the way of detail on it.
