Last of the great crooners. Guy was a class act. R.I.P.

HPI Guy has a new shootout with this Revell stuff as the winner. Enjoy.

I forgot to mention that there was no instruction sheet. * Probably won't need one but if anybody has one laying around, could use some help.

These 1/18 GMP wheels/tires are only slightly bigger than the stock/kit tires but they a a different look. -
Way back in the mid 90s, My good friends were getting ready to record their 2nd full album at Studio 4 (after the moved it to Conshohocken PA). At the time, their manager was shopping around for somebody with some production creed, and he brought this guy down from New York named Godfred Dimond to help. When we heard he and his brother were behind this song, we thought this would be good for a laugh. As we got to know him it was obvious that they were only in this disco hit for the easy money. He began telling us how he was good friends with all of the Ramones, Lou Reed, David Johansen, Johnny Thunders and Ritchard Hell. Then we really clicked with him. A quick google search let me know that he is still around. Latly, I have been hearing this song on Chevy commercials. A real ear worm.

I'm also building one of these kits. I really like how they make it easy for the top to come off so that you can display your custom interior work.

I agree, it would probably be easier for Revell to do that, but the more I look at the parts in this kit the more it looks like a completely different kit. first hint of this is the roll cage is unlike anyone that Monogram or Revell have used before. The same might be said for the tires, engine block and various other parts. it's definitely a different kit.

I cut the bed down with a dremil disk and, sanded everything smooth and glued everything back together. it was relatively easy. On the frame, I took the same amount off of the read portion so that the middle of the frame would not be compromised. the rear of the bed is tilting up a small bit because i have got to figure out a way to remove that small piece under the tailgate and still have the 2 frame rails for the bumper to attach to. now I will have to e-locate the rear suspension to line up with everything. -
Steve. I have both kits so I'll let you know later when i can compare. i do know this particular Suzuki has never appeared in another kit of any scale.

My 1/16 Revell Jeep CJ7 with Suzuki RM 400 finally arrived. Everything looks to be intact but I will have to repair a few parts.

Ollie's strike again

Mines always got plenty of battel ships, helicopters and late model junk. Pass! -
What was your first model car?
Mike C. replied to Kit Karson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The first was the Revell Thames panel gasser but I do remember this Dodge van. Never built it but I used lots of the parts on other stuff. Everything was "Bi-Centennial* themed back then. -
Ollie's strike again

I honestly think that my local Olie's is probably among the worst in terms of model kits. I popped in today (it's in the same strip mall as my post office) hoping to find one of those discoun t AMT Ford surfer vans (the extra goodies included are worth the cost) but all I found was a bunch of late model foof, a few Vipers and a few '57 Nomad kit. No interest there to say the least. Makes me not even want to go in there at all anymore. -
