  1. That warmer plate is also a good idea. Don't forget to pick up cheapo hairdryer for fixing warped styrene. I'm always forgetting to pick one of those up.
  2. I did think about that, but the amount of work involved with making the hood operable, and scratch building the extra parts isn't something I'm eager to sign up for. Besides Have you ever seen on of these engines after the hood is opened? There's not all that much to see except for a lot of ductwork. I'm more about how I can have the roof section be removable to display that cool interior.
  3. A little fancy footwork is required for the slight suspension lift.
  4. Just sort of mixes it up for you. You should constantly keep turning them ever week or so after you shake them. I try to do the same with spray cans.
  5. Donor car is a 1/24 Revell, '68 bug. Available everywhere now.
  6. Resin (grey parts) courtesy of Texas 3D customs. Not the wheels and tires I'm gonna be going with, but they will have to stand in until the right ones get here.
  7. It's probably important that its 1/24.
  8. I raised the suspension using some 4mm styrene tubing and some strips of styrene. Not too terribly difficult.
  9. Okay, here is the Baja bug project from Charles at Texas 3D Customs. Just a rough mockup wheels and side nerf bars coming later. This is using the Revell 1/24, '68 kit.
  10. I stumbled onto this 2-part video on YouTube. Makes me wonder, how many other people built a DMCL Charger over the years. I have the Autoworld diecast in 1/18 today but I remember building one in smaller scale as a kid. Also remember blowing it up with an M-80 as a teen. ?
  11. Call me when they do a '73 F-250.
  12. I google picture searched the poster. Couldn't find anything that rang a bell. I was way before they even thought of crushing cars in huge arenas. Way before the whole thing got way out of hand. ???
  13. Mine too. I had a poster of one of the very first ones (I think it was a '74) in my bedroom as a kid. I think I had to order it directly from Midwest 4-wheel drive center in St. Louis. That poster is probably worth some coin now.
  14. Thats a good tip Les but I was having trouble more with the flat and gloss, Which I had to mark bigger so my old eyes could tell what was what. I Have flat black, semi gloss black and gloss black. I also found the number for Testors flat black. Its SKU 356063. CC 1149TT next time you are in Hobby Lobby looking to buy flat black. There's like 5 different blacks on the Testors rack there and none of them are marked flat black. I told them about this on numerus occasions but apparently, it's no big deal to them.
  15. Finally pulled the trigger on an Italeri Volvo 780. Shure it's a curbside but that interior alone makes it a cool kit. Also some resin GM sport mirrors and paint for future projects.
  16. Not sure if this has been brought up here before, in trying to organize all my tiny Testors paint bottles, I stumbled onto a way to mark them a little better. If you're like me, and find it nearly impossible to read the small print that tells you what the paint is, I took a sharpie and after using a magnifying glass to read it correctly, wrote it more clearly. On one side say brown. On the next gloss or flat and so on. I was shocked that I had so many blues. Oh and get yourself one of these cheap spice racks. I. Still not completely organized but getting closer.

  19. Hurt - Johnny Cash - Nine Ince Nails cover.
  20. I thought I saw those axillary hood mounted mirrors somewhere. Could be, I was imagining it.
  21. My 12-week waiting period ends Nov. 4th. Still no word from them.
  22. I don't know, as highly regarded as Stephen King is, I just never found cars to be at all scary.
  23. The Jam = Beat Surrender live.
  24. The Style - Cafe Bleu. Tracy Thorn - vocals
