Greetings Ronald! Always good to hear from a North Jersey guy (in these parts, we consider Plainfield North Jersey). Used to do a lot of hanging in Belmar (the one on the beach). Still have some friends there. If you do find some clubs, swap meets or contests, let me know, Were a little far but not too far. Feggettaboutittt! ?

I'm talking about the tags some of us put on the title of the post. Google comes in when I was trying to show a friend some of my model pictures on google that were on this site, and I couldn't find any whereas a few months ago that same google picture search worked just fine. The tags used to work on a google picture search. now they don't. I can't seem to get any answers from anybody.

1955 Flajole -where has this been hiding?
Mike C. replied to Karl LaFong's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thats a good show. Been there a few times missed it this year. -
Still having the same problem. It's no big deal, but it's driving me batty. I type in every single tag in the search and zilch. A few months ago, there was no problem. Evry time i try to contact google about this it comes to a dead end. This is particularly pics from this site. Anybody else having this same problem?

MPC Highjacker 4x4 van finished!
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks guys! I'm thinking of mudding it up a little. That would be a good way to hide that unsightly glue smudge on the windshield. -
Instruction sheet BLOOPERS
Mike C. replied to Vintage AMT's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The story I always heard was that Chrysler bought a whole bunch of Jeep horns from the U.S. military. These had the sound they were after at less of a cost they would have to spend to make their own. -
Instruction sheet BLOOPERS

Can't remember the kit (I'm guessing '69 Judge). It was one of those old Ertl 1/18 diecast Body Shop kits. The Judge picture suddenly turned into what was clearly a '69 Camaro on the instruction sheet. If I am ever able to find it, I'll post a picture. -

That '70 Charger R/T checks off all the boxes for me. Love the 440 Six Pac cars. -
They must have an exclusive deal with Testors paints. I see plenty of other stuff from Tamiya, just not the paints. I still can't figure out why they still have flat black in the tiny Testors bottles. I've brought it up with the staff on numerous occasions. I keep telling them the Testors rack has like 5 different blacks but never a single bottle of flat black. I tell them all the time that modelers ALWAYS need flat black. I guess the corporate big whigs are just not too concerned with what their customers want.?

I would just search "weathering model cars and trucks". when you click on the video you want, they will offer you a lot of similar helpful videos. Here's another one that gives you tips on detailing the windshield wiper mud.

MPC Highjacker 4x4 van finished!
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Doyle. I have an extra sealed one that I bought when MPC re issued the kit a few years ago. Gonna go on Ebay soon. I remember building the street van version of this kit when I was a kid, but I honestly don't remember it being so challenging. This thing fought me every step of the way. There were so many times when I just wanted to walk away from this one for my own sanity. It's a wonder it got finished at all. Down the line, I've got that vintage Revell 1/16 Chevy truck to take on. Got some plans for that one. -
Now I have more dirt than I know what to do with. No sticker shock on the price of dirt! ?

Thanks for the tip Les, I'll need to do some of that also. After I tore my hands up trying to sift the soil through the strainer, (didn't think it would be so much work) I went and got this old heavy ice cream scooper. It seemed to work a little better.

I just saw that too. He made it look like the one my cousin bought back when I was a kid. If memory serves me; the interior was a sort of green also. Can't wait for these!
