MPC Highjacker 4x4 van finished!
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thank you, Larry. I made the CB microphone cord and the CB antenna from an old round wound guitar string. The radio antenna is a sewing needle. You can get a pack of like 30 of them for a dollar at the dollar store. -

I have a lot of models painted and ready to assemble. I think I'll start this one up again. Another one with Casey's five slots. -
MPC Highjacker 4x4 van finished!
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I had to shine my little flashlight into the interior so that you could see the rifle and shotgun rack up on the wall. The carpeting is a little dark. I painted the sleeping bag blue because I can remember a blue one that I had as a kid. I have to thank Casey for the five slot mags. I was going to use the Ground Hawgs from the Revell Big Game kit, but I found these super swamppers that I forgot I ever bought. Pays to clean up your work bench every so often. I was thinking about mounting the lights on the roof but here on the east coast, you tend to have to deal with low hanging branches and thick brush, so they are sort of vulnerable up there. Maybe I should mud it up a little and add a little patina. -

I can remember hearing people paying $8,000 for a new home. I was shocked when my dad told me that he bought our vacation house at the Jersey shore in Wildwood for $30,000 in 1974. Man, how times have changed.

Anybody know the link for the Rays kits ebay store?
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
Just checked pontiacbankers ebay store. The shipping for me is $9.95. I would still save somewhere in the neighborhood of $10. I think I'll stick with the ebay store. -
Any around the greater Philadelpha or even South Jersey or Northern Delaware area?

MPC 1/20 Highjacker 4x4 van
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Still working on the final touches. Some of these parts require some interesting techniques to get to the finished product. This is just one of many had to make up during this (and other) builds. That glue works well but there is no way any human can sit there and hold it steady for as long as it would take for it to dry.- 69 replies
