  1. Prolly sum'in' like this: http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Kutzler_Dream_Car
  2. Looks like somebody bought up the leftover parts from Hummer. That FC is pretty awesome, though, even if it's frontal crash test rating would be abysmal. The nose of the J-12 seems a bit small in proportion to the rest of the truck, though. Here's what's left of a vintage FC Jeep:
  3. I always thought this was one of the better bubbletop concept cars to come out, and this one certainly has that "Jet Age" feel and look to it. A few years ago I would've scoffed at the styrene tires, low parts count, and metal axles, but the simplicity and crisp look of kits like these is suddenly appealing. I really like the mint green color, too.
  4. Actually, it appears to be an '80+ by the hood and grille surround I can just barely make out. Cool stuff.
  5. Revell and AMT both made snap-together versions of the '79-'83 Toyota 4x4 pickups, though I think both are the '79-'80 round headlight variety.
  6. Anybody else here attending? I should make it there this year.
  7. Hop in the way back machine:
  8. The cream colored pickup looks like a '79-'83 Toyota pickup, very similar to this one, but it doesn't appear to have the tailgate latch hooks on the bed ends, so it's probably an '81(?)-'83:
  9. The latest Revell ZR1 kit is on clearance for $18.00, but that's probably still not cost effective even with shipping from the U.S. to Estonia.
  10. Thank Marcos Cruz, as he was the one who originally posted in here.
  11. Oops, sorry, the eBay Europe page fooled me. Have you done a "Completed Items" search to see what other similar kits have recently sold for?
  12. It's pretty much the only version of that kit made, so unless you want to get one of the earlier Revell '65 GTs or an original Renwal version, you have to pay up. Maybe it's the location, too? If it's already in Europe, so shipping would cost much less than if it were in North America.
  13. You bought the just-reissued version or an issue from the last reissue, about ten years ago? Just trying to clarify if the just-reissued version includes a resin hood or not.
  14. I'm guessing that since Hobbico recently acquired Revell-AG and also owns Tower Hobbies the price increase is not unrelated. Nice haul, James.
  15. Yes, one of the lug nuts on each wheel is incorrectly positioned, so nevermind my suggestion.
  16. Finally, AMT is going to update the Ala Kart and release a model of something a bit more in line with modern fuel economy standards. Eat your heart out, Ed Shaver! http://www.bonediggers.com/3-1/voila/voila.html
  17. Find a Monogram 1/24 scale ZR-1 Corvette kit, such as the molded-in-yellow '91 version, which is the kit these wheels came from:
  18. I would agree it looks a bit too nice to be the original wrapping, but you can never know for sure how or where it was stored over the years. If you're never going to open it, it doesn't matter what's inside. If you like it, buy it and enjoy looking at it. That era AMT box art is fantastically trippy.
  19. It's the inside of the MPC/AMT bed which I have a problem with- the side walls are smooth, there's zero lip detail where the side and front walls meet the bed sides, and the wheel housings look generically half hex-shaped. They both need improvement, but I think the Monogram beds are easier to re-work because of their multi-piece construction...or we can all just build Stepside/Fenderside pickups.
  20. I have been hoping for a few Monogram kits to return to their original form for years, and while I doubt either the '40 Ford pickup nor '32 Ford roadster will happen in the near future (both were re-issued within the last twelve months), I could see one or two being restored, so to speak. They have invested some money in the Rommel's Rod and Circus Wagon kits, and the Black Widow was also cleaned and new tires created. The Little T and Blue Beetle would be prime candidates, as we don't need any more '29 Ford roadster pickups with 5-slot wheels and bed stakes, and we know they have the tire tooling for the Little T which I believe is shared with the Orange Hauler, Lil Coffin, and Boothill Express kits- all of which have been reissued in their original form. Sadly, I think Dave Van is probably right, and the original tooling inserts are long gone for some of these kits. Yes, they could spend the money to recreate them, but I'm not sure that will happen more than once every few years.
  21. There's at least one review in the Kit Reviews section-- the first place to look when you have a kit-specific question.
  22. Yes. this is typical of Revell's late '60s show rod kits- many chrome plated parts, and many of them small. I tried my hand at the "Demons" series "Chopped Deuce" version in the early '80s and failed miserably.
  23. This kit is supposed to be out this month, and I found a few good reference photos of Bob Tindale's car as it is now, so I hope they will be useful for someone. Hopefully Revell has included some better tires than the last go 'round, as the semi-hard two-piece rear slicks were, well, not so good.
