  1. Thanks for you comments on my models, Carl -Rich
  2. Thanks Mario, 61 Plymouths come up for sale occasionally but are usually not cheap. There are still bargains if you keep watching and are patient. I recently got another 62 Ford Fairlane hardtop new in the box for $35. But many of my NOS kits I've had for years. I'll be posting my 59 Plymouth and 60 Plymouth wagon at some point. I haven't started my 60 hardtop yet so it will be a while for it. -Rich
  3. I do like blue, but you'll see other colors coming up. I just finished a 61 T-bird Styline kit yesterday. So far, all the blue cars I've posted have been different colors of blue. When side by side, you can see the difference. -Rich
  4. Thank you all for your comments, they mean a lot.
  5. Mine was molded in white. I think the dark colors can be a problem sometimes.
  6. I had planned on something different for today but thought I'd stick with the compacts. This was a built model that needed a good bit of body work. I finished it about a year ago. I think the rag I dusted it off with today put more dust on than it took off-sorry. This one has NOS tires. The bumpers, tail lights, headlights, and promo wheels/hubcaps are from Modelhaus. I polished the glass and again on this one I cut the sides off the interior to make the detailing easier. I added a piece of aluminum tubing for the exhaust tip. I have a 60 Falcon in progress to go with the Valiant and Corvair but it will probably be a while before I take it out to finish it. I'm including a photo of it in the display case. Any and all comments are always welcome and appreciated. Thank you for taking time to look. -Rich
  7. Thank you all again for your comments on this one. -Rich
  8. Tkanks, the SMP 60 was a 4 door. Subsequent years (SMP/AMT) were 2 doors. The Revell 62 Valiant was also a 4 door.
  9. I know Resin Model Ranch had it but don't know if they still do. -Rich
  10. I really appreciate all the comments. Rich
  11. Chris, thanks for your comment and the tip.
  12. Thanks Bill, I'm glad it brought back some memories!
  13. Very nice custom work, Gary. And the paint is superb!
  14. Thanks so much, Emre
  15. Thank you David. I made up a list of all the 4 door model kits and non warping promos or promo reissues that were made between 1958 and 1970. I did not include resin models. There really are a lot of them and I have many of them.
  16. Thanks Claude. If you ever do build it I'd like to see the results. -Rich
  17. Thank you Don.
  18. Here's one I finished a few weeks ago. It was a built kit with glue damage, especially from the fender skirts, and holes from mirrors, etc. I used Modelhaus bumpers but cleaned up and kept the original headlight surrounds so it would have clear lenses like it came with. I used the original tail lights and Modelhaus promo rims/hubcaps as they are more accurate than the hubcaps and trim rings that came with the original kit. The trim around the spare on the trunk is wire as the separate chrome kit trim is way to thick. And, of course, I polished the glass as always. I cut the sides off the interior, which I do often, to make the detailing easier. After painting the seats I used decals over the inserts to show a slight pattern. I left the blue tape on this one after gluing the interior back together. The tires are NOS originals from my stock of parts. I know there are better looking tires I could use including Modelhaus copies, but I like to use original tires when I can. I do use other tires on later models that came with tires that eat the plastic. I built all these kits as a kid when they first came out and I just like using original parts when possible. I guess I'm nostalgic. I like working with the original plastic , there's just something different about it. I almost never build reissues. Feel free to comment and thanks for taking the time to read this and look at my model. I plan to post some rare and different ones this week. Rich
  19. This is a different shade of blue that I haven't posted before. I had some matte blue interior paint left over from my 1:1 63 Galaxie 500 (that I've since sold) and used it on this one, then clearcoated it. Ha, ha, It's not mirrors, I have parts for between 1 and 200 of the Avantis. They are from a project I was involved in back when I worked making white metal handbuilt models in the 80's. The ones you see are some of the unfinished samples I painted back then. I plan to build them up at some point.
  20. Oh, I just had to look at this one. It came out great, Chrysler should have made it!
