  1. That’s one sharp Dart! Great details and the red really pops.
  2. I’m working on the MPC Hemihunter drag car: and the gauges included in the kit are kinda goofy and out of scale, so I made a new set of gauges and a tach to add to the dash. The small ones I made pods that angle toward the driver, kinda by accident each one got slightly taller which actually worked out very nicely. I’ll paint the dash and then add the gauges during final assembly. The other holes you can see are for some toggle switches and a push button starter which will also be done later. Not perfect but I’m happy with them for a first attempt. Also made some gas caps for the fuel tanks:
  3. Great save, love the color!
  4. Excellent job on the resto, very clean work!
  5. I glue the two halves together with tamiya cement, lining both pieces up evenly. Clamp if necessary and let the glue dry for several hours or overnight. Then I use a small fine flat file to flatten the seams, including the front and top seams, followed by 600 grit sandpaper to smooth everything down, lightly with 400 grit if necessary. Also filling any sink marks, etc. Prime the engine and sand the areas that show when the model is complete, then paint with the color of choice. The pictures below show the engine for my current project and a painted an complete engine in a finished build that had a seam down the center of the engine/trans.

  14. Some seriously sweet rides! Love the Mopars and the Camaro with flames looks straight out of an early 80’s Hot Rod magazine, but I think the yellow Mercury is the icing on the cake.

  16. That’s a cool kit to start with, and you did a great job with your BTF conversion!
  17. This old kit has a fair representation of those mirrors. I think I have two sets of these. If you’re in the US, you can have a set if you think they’d work for you, just pm me your address.
  18. Great project idea! Gonna follow along, too. The engine is looking great already, if it weren’t for your hand in the pictures I’d say it was a real engine.
