  1. Part of what planted the idea...and then the interest shown by Rocking Rodney Rat and too much time on Google. I hope you decide to enter. Charles
  2. I'd really dig the Datsun 510 again! Maybe with minilites?
  3. Never found Felson as a kid but devoured everything I could find by W. E. Butterworth. Really cool model and great back story!
  4. You guys did great! It'll look at home in a museum. Perfect job on the. Decals BTW. Charles
  5. Great. The stance, mill, everything about her!
  6. I'm glad, I've been mentally putting together my build since the idea was mentioned to me...
  7. Well to be honest this is just a 13 month build for fun, it's not judged nor will anyone disqualify you and refuse to let you race. I decided on the California rules since they opened up the ohv's to 1960, so that opened it up more. If you don't include the 5 point harness ot add an Offenhauser or SCTA decal, I doubt anyone would care... I think that there's enough research material out there to proximate a realistic build. Again, the main idea is to have fun and to use the parameters for a build. Myself, I only have 3 kits in my stash and I'll need to buy some and some parts to do this. Also, I'm not a mechanic so I'll be looking stuff up and doing research. Again, it's just for fun and we're all adults so I suppose it'll just need to be self-enforced and only those interested or intrigued by the challenge of the limitations will participate. Charles
  8. Beautiful model, what a cool subject to find! I've never seen anything like it before.
  9. Now that is crazy cool!!! It's great seeing models from the beginning years...
  10. It's a re-pop of Revell Custom Car Parts c1132. https://atlantis-models.com/custom-car-parts-series-roadster-chassis-speed-equipment-atlantis/
  11. I've listened to Clutch for years but somehow I missed this album, "Slow Hole to China: Rare and Unreleased ". It came out in 2009, all remastered. I've been playing the heck out of it the last 2 days!
  12. To be honest I'm kinda scared when he won't be...
  13. "Taken" was a fun movie but isn't Liam Neeson getting a little long in the tooth for these type of roles now?
  14. Very cool. Always happy to see those one built.
  15. I haven't bought from yet but VCG resin by Reese has some nice looking 3D printed ones...
  16. Would love to see at least the 40 Ford crossmember printed to go with your rear crossmembers...
  17. From Don Montgomery's book "Hot Rods in the Forties:A Blast From The Past". 1929 Roadster at the 1947 SCTA. Best speed was 121.62. Looking for ideas for this build, all I know is I'm going with a 29...
  18. Say November 1 2022 through December 8, 2023? Gives everyone 13 months to plan, prepare and build, just like a 1:1 project. I'm excited to see what people bring to race at the beach and what class they choose to enter.
  19. Why I wanted to do their California event, because it added the early ohv class, doing more research i think the Wildwood does too... but i likevthe December date for California, I thought it would open up more options for anyone interested.

  21. I too love the interior photos. Wow.
  22. Just a thought... Returning you back to the original thread.
  23. Just seeing if there might be interest in this, it would follow the same rules as the actual event. The deadline would be Dec 8,9 2023. Which would be the same weekend next year as the weekend event this year. Besides, for those of us who don't have huge stashes, it would give us a chance to get all of the required parts necessary to compete. The rules according to the official website: https://www.theraceofgentlemen.com/race-entry-ca
  24. I think this is a great idea! Or for a community build? https://www.theraceofgentlemen.com/race-entry-ca
