What would YOU like to see as a model

Just watched Taxi Driver for the first time in many decades, how about a Checker Cab model? -
This is only a street version, I’m going to make it into a NASCAR racer, I already have the decals, paint, wheels and tires and roll cage. Looks like a pretty simple kit.

Love the reflection. Really nice pics.

Real sharp!

I was just watching YouTube videos on this technique. Looks pretty cool, guitars, deer skulls, even running shoes, I’m going to give it a try in the future.

Thanks Mark, it was 1966. Much like my model building, my memory isn’t quite so accurate anymore. I’m pretty sure the car was unsponsored for this race but I thought it would look better with a logo on the rear quarters. -
I have switched to Tamiya primers but they don’t have a black one

Great work on both builds!

Did you bare metal foil them too??

Started with the AMT 1968 Roadrunner kit. Plastic Performance wheels, tires and roll cage. Styrene headlight and taillight covers. Powerslide decals. I had some issues getting the roll cage to fit and the window trim is so small I was unable to BMF them. I saw this paint scheme watching a YouTube video of the 1968 Firecracker 400.

How to make a rubber tire looks like flat.

Thanks for the tip! I was wondering how to do that. -
I will never use a bottle from my building supplies (paint, glue, decal restorers etc.) without reading the label first. While my accident was minor, it could have ruined a paint job. Decal restorer and decal softener are not interchangeable.

Donnie was my favorite growing up…I have four of his builds in queue -
Nice gasser. Looks like a nice kit to build

Started with the Revel Foose 65 Impala kit. Added Plastic Performance roll cage, wheels and tires. Ace decals finished it off. I was going to make styrene headlight and taillight covers but they were an odd shape. I ended up installing the headlights and painting them steel color. For the taillights, I glued styrene behind the body then added steel paint, not 100% accurate but still looks okay. The rest of the kit went together pretty well but there is a twist in it. I’m pretty sure Bobby only ran one race for Smokey Yunick, the 65 World 600.
