  1. I’m truly speechless. This car is absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship is unbelievable. You should be proud of this one!
  2. Very nice! Love the wheels and the body colored bumpers
  3. Very nice Fuelie! I like the less common color scheme with the tan. It really makes those redlines pop! Looks great
  4. I built this car a few years back. It was one of the first models I really took my time on and took seriously. It was still before I joined any forums and really learned how to build “properly,” but I was still happy with how this turned out. I decided to pull it back out and detail up the grille and black wash the wheels to give it that final touch. Paint was Testors Extreme “Icy Blue” with cheap rattle can flat black for the hood. One of my favorite Mopars of all time!
  5. This thing is beautiful! I have always been partial to the front end of the ‘38, and the wood panels and the lines they create just accentuate the shape and make it even better. Very well done, and excellent vision! It came out great
  6. Looks great! I love the name “Hair-trigger.” Very tidy job on this one (and the ramp truck!) Perfect combo to display. Well done!
  7. These fastback fish look so mean done up as a pro mod…excellent job! Looks like it should be on the track!
  8. Very nicely done! What a cool little piece this truck was. One of the best pieces of advertising for an automaker in history. I also am too afraid to start on mine and it remains deep in the stash. Those pesky doors…
  9. Thanks for the kind words. This picture was the one I primarily used for reference. The decals I used do have somewhat of a teal look in the correct lighting, but are bluer than what was on the real car. The craft paint I used on the lighter part of the interior also dried way less of an aqua shade than what it looked like in the bottle, but ended up matching the decals fairly well. I still prefer it to the drastically incorrect black decals it came with.
  10. I bought this kit with no original intent on building the actual “Old Reliable II” on the box art, but rather as a showroom stock ‘62 Bel Air 409. After some light reading about Strickler (and finding out he was somewhat local and that a friend of a friend owns his real deal ‘64 Dodge), I decided I had to build it as a tribute to his car. Primarily done box stock, but with AMT’s Parts Pack M&H Racemaster slicks and a wired distributor from Gofer. I sourced the correct blue decals for the car from “teresawulf” on eBay. Every picture of Strickler’s cars showed the bubble top Bel Air done with blue lettering and a Pennzoil logo, while the Impala hardtop cars wore the black lettering like what was included in the kit. I also added Pennsylvania antique plates, as if to represent the car in present day being enjoyed by a collector. This kit was an absolute joy to build, and to say it’s one of AMT’s best is a total understatement. It literally fell together. Fitment and detail are top notch. It was my most enjoyable build to date.
  11. Thank you! It was a very fun build, my expectations were low after some of the reviews I saw but it was a more enjoyable kit than I hoped.
  12. Must just be the lighting in that last outdoor pic. Regardless, it looks great!
  13. Awesome is the only word I can come up with. This is just too cool. Probably my favorite of your models, and that is no light statement. You build some really cool stuff, but I think this one takes the cake.
  14. Fantastic job…My personal favorite car of all time, and wow does that pearl white pop! Very sharp interior colors as well, and it goes without saying that engine detailing is top notch.
  15. Nice! Love the color combo. The vinyl top looks quite nice on this car. I love the 69 Rivs, they don’t get the love the boat tails or the early models do, but I personally think they look the best. I have one of these on the bench at the moment as well, it does build up nicely.
  16. Nice truck! Maybe in Scary Jerry’s future once the topper is added? He could get into trouble with all that torque… ?
  17. Not at all where my mind would go for a color scheme on this, but wow did it work out! Looks great…that red tail stripe ties the whole thing together. Reading the description I couldn’t picture the red, white and blue working together at all, but the pictures changed my mind! Excellent job on the design and finished product.
  18. I’ll add another thumbs up on the color choice! Looks great, that chassis is beautiful as well. Keep them coming!
  19. Absolutely beautiful. I love these cars, and this one wears that color scheme well. I have the original Johan annual flat box kit in the stash and can’t bring myself to start it. If I knew I could pull it off this well, I would! Excellent job
  20. Very nice work! Those wheels look like they were made for it. Love the mild restomod vibe to it with the LS and oversized wheels. Great color combo to boot!
  21. Speechless. Absolutely beautiful car. This is the level of craftsmanship I hope to achieve someday. Thank you for the inspiration! P.S. How did you ever think of the cassette player idea? I’m going to steal that for sure!
  22. I really enjoy collecting obscure vehicles that you don’t see everyday (AMCs, Malaise era cars, etc.) so this ‘80 Volare was a no-brainer for me. The kit engine is so horrendously inaccurate, I decided to rob the 5.7 Hemi from the 2005 Chrysler 300 kit and make a street sleeper out of it. The 300 gave up its rolling stock as well, and the rest of the kit is box stock. The 727 automatic was removed from the kit-blob V6 and mated to the Hemi. Paint is Duplicolor from a can in GM Crimson Red (also known as Long Beach Red on newer Corvettes.) Trim was done with a Molotow pen. I took the pics before completing the door handles, rear side markers and rear/vent window trim. Went together fairly easily for all the horror stories I’ve read on this kit. The bumpers required the most work.
  23. Thanks everyone! It was a fun, low pressure build. No crazy details, just a nice shelf piece. And @espo thanks, I really like the way the wheels and tires came out. The kit slot style wheels were just way too narrow and short to fit the look.
