  1. I’d say you’ve been busy! Excellent results across the board. And forgive me, but I just GOTTA say it…..”she’s a beaut, Clark” ?
  2. Good looking group! Something about that big Buick catches my eye just the right way ?
  3. Excellent job on this…as mentioned already the body color steel wheels on the back really pop, and the color choice really works with the flame decals. Very cool little gasser!
  4. Supposedly the newer one was all new tooling when it came out, so I think they’re totally different
  5. Got quite the Christmas surprise from my neighbor (who I had no idea was a modeler)…old unstarted kits he bought new back in the day. Original annual issues of the 66 MPC Charger, 70 MPC Challenger and 71 AMT Monte Carlo. The Challenger is the version molded in Plum Crazy to boot.
  6. This was a very nice kit to build with the exception of my warped/bent frame that made final assembly interesting. Lots of positive attachment points and well thought out construction. The biggest struggle came with getting the wheels and tires to fit, but that’s my fault not the kit’s. I just cut pieces of sprue to use as spacers under the rear coil springs to get them to clear. Paint is generic rattle can semi gloss black with Rustoleum canvas white accents on the roof and grille/bumpers. The 427 was robbed from the 61 Ranchero Custom kit, and the rolling stock and side exit exhaust were borrowed from an old AMT Bill Elliott NASCAR T-Bird. Bicentennial Michigan plate courtesy of Best Model Car Products, and the USA-1 front plate came from AMT’s latest 68 Camaro. Fender 427 emblems were in a Gofer decal package. Tailgate lettering was included in the kit in 3 different colors, I decided to chop them up and use all 3 for the patriotic look.
  7. Busy year! I like them all but that Georgia Shaker takes the cake for me, excellent work
  8. Awesome spread of builds! I’m loving that Moulin Rouge Duster on the slot mags and the retractable! Good work on all
  9. Well done across the board (in fact, well done is an understatement)…but that ‘81 Z…WOW. For everything bad I’ve heard about that kit, that thing is absolutely stunning. So inspiring, in fact, that I might have to grab one to recreate my 1:1 ‘79. (Maybe I’ll just commission you to do it given these results!)
  10. I looked at her sister Sapphire first and was pretty impressed, but I’m taking this one if given the choice. Wow!! Fantastic job (as I’ve come to expect when I see your posts!)
  11. Wow! Look at that gloss…excellent job all around, makes me want to grab one of these kits even though I’ve never particularly cared for the 1:1
  12. This kit was kind of a fight, but definitely worth the effort. While the finished product isn’t very realistic with the dual rear axle design and the over simplified chassis (don’t look at the bottom), it is still a very cool piece in the case to display a drag car on the back. Paint is Tamiya TS-12 Orange with Rustoleum Canvas White. Built box stock except a front plate from Best Model Car Parts and trim done in a combination of BMF and Ultracal precut chrome strips. This was also my first attempt at weathering anything: I decided to try out weathering the engine bay and the ramp but leave the body clean.
  13. I really enjoyed this kit, even given its simplicity. It makes a great slump buster, as it goes together very well. Looks pretty cool finished too, I think. Paint is Testors Flaming Orange extreme lacquer with Duplicolor 1K clear. I used the lowered front suspension option with the higher rear option. Mostly box stock, with a handful of exceptions. Front wheels from the AMT Lil Red Express kit, rear wheels were spares in the 1940 Willys gasser kit, rear blue stripe slicks also came from the Willys, and license plates provided by Best Model Car Parts. Not much detail at all to the lump they pass off as a 327, so it will be displayed with the hood closed at all times.
  14. Finally finished with this hateful kit. I’ve never had more fitment issues in my life. I swear, even the two block halves didn’t fit. Final product isn’t a bad shelf sitter, but it definitely was a fight. Paint is Tamiya TS-45 Pearl White cleared with floor polish. The gold on the chassis and scoop is Mr Color Super Rich Gold. Headers were faux “heat treated” with Tamiya clear blue, clear orange and clear yellow applied over the kit chrome. Decals from Slixx. Wired distributor by Gofer. Box wheels and front tires, rear tires from the AMT parts pack.
  15. Somewhat busy year at the bench this year. I feel like my skills definitely took a step forward, thanks in large part to the techniques I’ve learned from those of you on the forum. Looking forward to a busier 2024! Posted chronologically: MPC 1980 Plymouth Volare “Fuzz Duster” AMT 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express AMT 1969 Buick Riviera AMT 1962 Chevy Bel Air “Old Reliable II” MPC 1972 Chevy Racers Wedge Ramp Truck Revell 1980 Jeep J10 Honcho AMT 1940 Willys Gasser Pickup AMT 1960 Chevy Fleetside AMT 1965 Chevy Chevelle “Superwagon”
  16. Nice collection of builds for sure! I’m very partial to the Chevelle, I remember seeing it when you originally completed it and being awestruck by it…that two tone paint really wakes it up
  17. I am blown away by your underhood detailing. I have never seen the little red and green felt rings underneath the battery terminals done in scale! The weathering as others has said is very good as well, but the second look at that engine bay has me speechless! Excellent job!
  18. Very nicely done! I love the bare steelies and slicks on the back. This is what I love the most about this hobby, seeing where our imaginations take us and being able to execute things we never could in 1:1! Awesome concept and equally awesome execution ?
  19. Excellent work on a very productive year! Hard to pick a favorite but I’m really liking that 64 Merc. I’d take any & all though! Very nice collection of builds.
  20. Very well done! I can’t say that I’ve seen the 2WD conversion pulled off this well. Paint and finish look top notch as well as the detail throughout. Excellent job replicating the 1:1
  21. Thanks guys! This really was a fun kit that I had pretty low expectations for. Everything fell together, and even with the lack of detail under-hood, the JC Whitney looking louvers and the blobular wheels, it was one of my most fun builds to date.
  22. This was built completely box stock from Revell’s most recent “Ice Patrol” release of the J10 pickup. Paint is 2011 Jeep code PUK “Bronze Star” provided by Scalefinishes. Decals are from the box, and laid down nicely. All chrome parts (except the window trim) were treated to Alclad as there is no chrome tree in this release. Everything is bare white styrene. Engine color is a home-mixed blend of craft acrylics to attempt to represent AMC engine blue. I was pleased with the fitment and how pleasant this went together, but there are definitely some areas lacking detail. Also not a fan of the window louvers being the only choice for a rear window. All in all a fun build that looks good on the display shelf, even if not a completely accurate 1:1.
  23. Beautiful job! I wish Moebius would tweak the 300 tooling to give us a proper ‘55 DeSoto kit. These cars are so under appreciated. I love the color scheme you went with
  24. Nothing short of a work of art. Very well done!
  25. Thank you, everyone. @ClassicgasI never realized or looked into that on the windows, thanks for the heads up. I’m sure I’ll never find them for this one this far after the fact, but I’ll know on the next one. I’m anxiously awaiting the rerelease of the 71 Demon, so I can apply that technique there!
