  1. That looks like its gonna be a sharp truck when you get done with it.

  3. That might be it. It might also just be the angle of the pic as well. It could also be the missing window pillars.
  4. Is it just me or does the body look a little short? I am not knocking your conversion Darin, I think it looks great, but it just looks as if the body is short or at least it does to me in the first picture in the last post.
  5. Don, I think the issues most people had with this kit and almost all the other barracuda kits had to do with the body lines. I think I remember readin about that awhile back. I may be wrong, my CRS acts up every once in awhile. LOL
  6. I have an Ollie's about 30 min away from me and I have yet to see any models in there. Been goin there off and on for several years now. Have gotten some really good deals on paint though.
  7. I think if we all just use a little common sense we'll all be fine. The problem is "common Sense" isn't very common any more. It seems to be extremely rare.
  8. I believe you are referring to the yellow "funny car"? The original "Dodge fever" Coronet was built by Jim Keeler in 67 or 68. A tribute model "Dodge fever 2" was built in 87 or 88. There was a writeup on it in the October 1988 issue of Scale Auto Enthusiast(RIP).According to the article he started with a Coronet body, the frame was scratchbuilt, the motor turned over as did the blower. It sounds like alot of moving parts and a lot that was scratchbuilt. I have the article in front of me as I write this. As far as I know no one has done an actual kit of this car, I also believe this was a fictitious car.Hope this helps.
  9. Anybody remember the HBO movie "Catch Me If You Can"?( Not the Tom Hanks film.) There was Dylan's 69 Chevelle, two versions of "Fast Freddy's 57 Chevrolet, Johnny Fatman's 60 or 61 Lincoln, Sandman's 68 or 69 Camaro Convertible, The 70 something Duster Dylan races at the beginning, the Widowmaker's Camaro, I know there was a VW Beetle in there too. I was looking at trying to find all the kits to build all of these cars at one time.
  10. I have had this sitting for awhile, saw the forgotten build posts and decided to start on this one.So here goes. I got the body painted on Sunday. I tried a few new techniques (new to me) on this one and they paid off. The paint on the body is very smooth. I just need to add the decals, figure out if I am painting or foiling the trim, and polish the body and I am done with that portion of it. Motor is painted. I know the color is not exact, but it was the closest I could find to Pontiac Blue.I still need to paint the trans but that will get done the next time I work on this. The interior parts in my paintbooth. I think I am going to paint it white with black accents and carpeting. These are the spray cans I have used to paint this so far. Well this all for right now. Comments, questions and criticism are welcomed. Thanks for looking.
  11. I'm in. I gotta few of these lost or forgotten kits.
  12. Sweet! Looks like you are off to a good start.
  13. It's definately not a cheap hobby! But then again, building models of any kind can be a rather expensive proposition! That Imp Guard flyer is sure lookin good.
  14. They are most definately not the same kit. I have had both in the past and would definately recommend the McEwen kit. Hope this helps.
  15. Mike, those headers look like they are off a funny car. Which one? I'm not sure, but hopefully this points you a little closer to the right direction.
  16. So you can build something other than a drag car. LOL. That is a sweet custom, John.
  17. In "Mr Destiny"(1990), the main charachter played by Jim Belushi, is building a gullwing Mercedes? I think. It was one of the silhouette series by AMT.
  18. I believe that was posted by by "my 70 chevelle ss". Hope this helps.
  19. Will, you can apply Future with a brush. You don't have to use an airbrush. I have actually had better luck with brushing it on than airbrushing it. You've kinda gotta experiment with it a little bit. Good luck and hope this helps. Mageck
  20. That's hilarious. It's been turned into a rolling joke.
  21. I believe that was Budd "the Kat FROM AMT" Anderson, not Art. Budd passed quite a few years ago. Art is a member on this forum.
  22. In a word, YES! When they went away from the basics and started playin keepin up with the Jones's. As for the grammar issue, while I agree some should watch their spellin and punctuation, this may be the way some of these kids actually speak.
  23. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased. it was just a freak accident that not much of anything, short of not being there, would have prevented. Ummm, Jody? They airlifted her from the track. I don't think that is released and stating no injuries.
