  1. Yesterday I received my kit from GMS Customs (ordered Nov 19th). Like the above comments I have a curled decal sheet, flash in the same places and the chrome plating is missing from one spray angle on the backside. Otherwise it looks like an awesome kit.
  2. This build is amazing with tons of ideas for other project ...Thanks Looking at the photos of the real car, the colors look almost identical to the Revell colors. Revell was a major sponsor for Don back then. Could you take an old Revell logo or sticker if you can find one and match the blue to it?
  3. Does anyone know if a Photo Etch Detail Set is coming from anyone for the new Revell '70 'cuda? I haven't seen anything new from Model Car garage in years, not sure if they are still producing new items or just existing items. Does anyone else do this sort of thing?
  4. There are Michael's stores in Canada, and you can use their 50% coupon. The only problem, with Michael's extreme markup + 50% coupon, your still paying $10 more than any hobby shop.
  5. Has Round2 fixed the body? I have several originals that are awesome. I picked up one of the last releases before Round2 took over and it was garbage. The body was misaligned in many places, the worse was the front fender sides were recessed 1/16" at the mold line and severely warped.
  6. I will be in Tampa, FL for week of IBM training. Are there any good hobby shops to visit? Thanks
  7. Thanks Terry, I will check it out.
  8. Yes, that it. The ET wheels looks about the same.
  9. If these are the wheels from the El Camino, they are wrong for the Nova. The wheel is correct, but the center cap is wrong. The Nova had this style cap
  10. Thanks for the input, I will check out some resin casters.
  11. Thanks for the input, I will check out some resin casters.
  12. Looks interesting, kinda like a Bricklin rear ended a Toronado.
  13. Does any kit or resin caster have a set of 10 spoke spindle or bolt on style front wheel? I have the 12 spoke Americans that come with the '56 Vicky kit. I am collecting parts to build a Willys like a local car, it has ET wheels 10 spoke up front.
  14. The Nomad looks great, I love the color. Back in the early '70s my uncle had a laurel green/crocus yellow '56 Nomad, I am slowly working a replica of that car.
  15. I was working on the Revell Baldwin Motion Camaro when it first came out years ago. I was trimming the hood with an xacto when the hood snapped in half along a swirl mark in the plastic. Blade went through the top joint of my finger, cutting through the joint and tendon. Left the finger tip hanging by the skin. Tip re-attached but it stays bent at the joint with some numbness below fingernail. It was very painful for several weeks.
  16. A guy on eBay was selling a bench seat for he gtx
  17. When I striped the paint on my 1962 Nova convertible I found factory red oxide on all interior sides of the sheet metal; floors, top well, kick panel, inside firewall. The exterior body was medium/dark grey. Including the underside. Original colors are black exterior, red interior. A 1962 Nova parts car I had was light grey throughout. My moms. 1962 Pontiac was red oxide throughout. I also have a set of 1963 Nova doors that are also red oxide.
  18. Looks like you off to a great start. If you are looking for reference photos, you will find a few hundred at http://www.musclecarrestorations.com . They have a few 442s on there including the husrt olds..
  19. This will be nice. I have owned a couple '62 Windsors, pink 4-door and a black 2-door hardtop. Fast powerful cars, love the dash (in my opinion the best ever).
  20. I will, but it may be a while, it takes me forever to complete a project.
  21. I am going to start building my kit soon. I own a real 1962 Nova convertible and will make any corrections based on actual measurements.
  22. Don't try it on a laser printer. I tried it at work once, I won't try it a second time. The fuser roller is basically a hot iron. The plastic stuck like glue and wound itself around the roller in a hot sticky mess. Took a few hours to peel off all the melted plastic.
  23. Not knowing what it was, I gave one away a few years ago in mint unbuilt condition. Lets just say I found out what it was about 5 minutes after I gave it away.
  24. I was never a fan of this year Impala, I prefer '67 and older. I have never seen the "Mild & wild" kits and bought this just because the boxart is so cool. This one is molded in red. Price was a steal for sure. Also picked up an amt 1/32 '63 Corvette (1967 issue) for a couple dollers at the same time.
  25. I just picked up an unbuild MPC "Mild & Wild" 1971 Impala at a flea market. I am not too familiar with this kit. Is it rare, has it been reissued, etc?
