  1. Nice job! A really good looking Mack!
  2. The engine I'll keep but for the tires I think I have a solution! 😉
  3. The advantage of taking apart these old kits is that the glue is almost non existant after such a long time! I built it sometime around 82! Guess two weeks should hit it! Couple of days more or less!
  4. Thanks! I can really use some encouragement on this! I still have a tear in one eye taking it apart since it was one of my first truck kits after the Mack R685st and a Peterbilt California hauler which doesn't exist anymore!
  5. Hi Folks, since I haven't been making much progress on my show case (for several reasons) I needed something else to do! I took my old Alaskan Hauler off the shelf a few days ago, put larger tires on it and put it back! Still I wasn't satisfied so yesterday evening I again took it down and then apart! I'll give it a new paint job and again other tires. I have a Set of Italeri rubber tires which I'd like to use. Also I'll use new, larger rims. Hope this turns out as I expect! I admit it did hurt a bit to Take it apart!
  6. I can imagine that it's not easy especially in an even smaller scale than 1/25. I'll be following and I'm sure you'll find a brilliant solution!
  7. One question Steve: How will you keep the cab from tilting all the way over? That's one thing I've always been dealing with building cabovers. Some are stopped by the bumper or you can Rest the cab on the shifter. But that's not really the best way. I admit I've been avoiding this problem. Thought of a sort of piston or something but there was never enough space!
  8. Very nice! Looks so real!
  9. Did anyone doubt you'd make it? We all have full faith in your abilities!
  10. Take your time! There shouldn't be a rush! You're a model builder, not an escaped convict! 😉
  11. If I may give my opinion, I used a mix of 5 colors in total for mine! I don't believe there's one color on the market that fits it! I'd have a look which ones I used if you like!
  12. Well, work induces more work! Great idea with the tilting mechanism! I think the engine looks fine! If you know someone with a printer I could reduce my self designed ntc290 (at least it's similar to one) to 1/32 and send you the files! Just an offer! It's the one I put into my Pete 352 day cab! I know it's far from perfect but if it helps! The radiator is shaped flat to fit the grille.
  13. Amazing what you're making of this! But don't let Monogram see that, they'll put in even less details when they see what's possible! 😉
  14. Do what you feel, Jeff! It's gonna look great no matter what you choose!
  15. That's gonna be another cool one! First row!
  16. Or dark green and white/off white with a light green or iron metallic chassis! I think you've got enough ideas! 😊
  17. Thanks Pal! I'm sure your choice of color will be great, no matter if it's green or anything else!
  18. What a nice looking truck! Amazing how the details don't different from larger scaled models! Like the color combo too.
  19. I'm in too, Jeff! That Italeri Western Star is fun to build! I've got the Road Train version with right hand drive! Even building it out of the box was really nice! Great fit and nice details! And green sounds good! Fits that truck really well! I'm sure with the Changes you've planned it's gonna be another jewel! (Didn't mean to hijack your thread with that pic, Jeff but I wanted to support the suggestion of green!)
  20. That's the same way I feel, Gary when I start a build that's just according to my gusto and not following a box or a picture. Both are fun and have a special challenge but building after a picture in your mind lets you change directions any time without compromises! Keep going, it's coming along great and I believe I'm not the only one here anxious to see more of your fantasy flowing into it! 👍
  21. Cool! Didn't know that! Thanks for explaining!
