  1. Thanks Rockford! The "meaty" probably comes from the fat Italeri tires. But I'm happy with it. I'll be finishing the engine and exhaust system, then I'll begin the interior and cab. Stay tuned! ?
  2. Thanks! Hope it keeps going like this! I tried out the fill primer on the first printed cab. It does hide the print lines a bit but I'd have to sand it and that's quite a pain trying not to destroy the rivets. We'll see what happens!
  3. The second fuel tank with straps and step. The quarter fenders are from a White Western Star If I remember correctly! ? But they fit perfectly! I also added a cross bar to stabilize the frame of the exhaust system. Seems the chassis is done. Just some more piping to do around the engine. Mufflers and exhaust pipes are being printed at the time as well as the air intake.
  4. Some more progress: The wheels and battery box Fuel tanks and the air pipe from the aircleaner to the turbo charger! The second tank follows shortly as well as the mud flaps in front.
  5. Thanks! I painted and installed the engine. Since you can't see the color of the engine in the movie I decided to paint it dark gray. I think it looks pretty good. Now the wheels, fuel tanks and some piping and the chassis is almost ready. Still need to print the exhaust pipes and the intake for the aircleaner.
  6. Nice video. Very interesting to see what hard work it is keeping a truck functional. Thanks again! I enjoyed watching!
  7. Looks fantastic! I agree that a bright white trailer can look quite majestic but the aliminium turned out great and the details are all still visible inspite of several paint layers. A Job well done! ?
  8. Thanks Rockford! It's never too late! ? I'll improve it on my next kit! The chassis is painted!
  9. Nice work! Love the details! I can understand you making the the backing plates. Even If you can't really see them later you know there's something missing! I made them too for all my printed kits!
  10. Now the chassis is ready for its paintjob.
  11. This stuff is absolutely top level! ?
  12. The backing plates are in place. Now the u-bolts have to be installed.
  13. Thanks! Then I will Install them! ? I already printed the plates to hold the u-bolts not being sure if I'll be needing them.
  14. Thanks! ? If I may ask, did these trucks have u-bolt fixed front axles too?
  15. The radiator is in place, the engine just placed to see if it fits! Fuel tank brackets and stabilizers are also in place! A few more chassis parts to print then the engine will be completed. The exhaust manifold is the only engine part which is not printed. I had one in my parts box so why not use it!
  16. Thanks very much, Rockford, and yes, the gap in the chassis will of course be partially hidden by the fuel tank brackets. Still I might try to hide them additionally in some way. I got the 1mm brass rods yesterday and shaped and fit in the u-bolts. Now I can put in the rear axles in form of 2mm steel rods. The brake drums will be fixed in position the same way as in front. I'm only assembling so far as all the parts will be the same color later. Everything else will be assembled later and painted separately .
  17. The cab in position. The long hinge rod will be replaced by two short pins that won´t be visible later. Still a long way to go. Chassis and cab still not reworked. The seam from connecting the chassis rails is still visible, the cab still shows quite a lot of waste material especially around the rivets. But I gave myself time till about Christmas to finish it. Leaves a comfortable time window.
  18. I printed the fuel tanks and assembled them. Now they need a bit of furnishing but they look pretty good I´d say! The front axle is also mounted and one rear axle. I began shaping the u-bolts. Have to wait for more though. I ordered more 1mm rods, I´ll get them today. This one is just fit in. Pretty tricky getting them in there. Should have put them in place before mounting the suspension. Well, that one´s past. Have to try to get them in somehow.
  19. I mounted the cab rest! Fits pretty good!
  20. The radiator is completed. I made three parts to assemble. It's easier to print that way! I used the radiator of the K100 VIT as a reference eventhough it's a later model but it doesn't matter to me! As long as everything fits! ?
  21. Yes, I actually had ordered tires from Revell a few times last year. They had been produced in Germany until January 24. Then I got an e-mail from the distribution manager that said they were moving their production to Austria, somewhere near Salzburg! Unfortunately they haven't replied to my new order request. I'll still keep trying. The Revell tires are pretty good and quite flexible concerning the rim size!
  22. The chassis rails are straight! Suspension fits! Wheels look pretty good I´d say! I´m using Italeri tires since Revell can´t deliver at the time. They transfered their production to Austria in February and told me to write a new order in about 4 -6 weeks. I wrote them end of March and mid April but no response up to now so I switched to Italeri. I´ve got about 50 tires in my parts box now. Guess that´ll be enough for a few projects! ?
  23. Thanks! It really makes me happy seeing that what I do is liked and so much appreciated! I must admit I have learned so much about modelling techniques and trucks generally and I want to thank all of you who keep giving me honest feedback. I love browsing through your threads and seeing the passion in your builds! The roof is printed. Sometimes I get these little brown fields in the print. I don´t know why they appear. They look like the Filament was overheated eventhough I used the lowest possible printing temperature. It doesn´t really affect the quality of the build later since you can paint right over it and no one will know about it afterwards. As you can see I designed the positions of the sun visor, horns, A/C box and the marker lights so they can be fit easily!
  24. Luckily I made them fit both ways! Thanks again for your expertise! ?
