New Print Job
Jürgen M. replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks! I began learning last year in April when I bought my first printer! I don't know freecad but I'm sure it's similar to fusion360. You learn quickly and you can make great stuff! I wish you quick success and fun at designing! -
New Print Job
Jürgen M. replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I'm trying something new concerning the wheels! Like in reality I put the bolts on the brakedrums and holes in the rims! Same with the rear wheels! That makes it easier to center the wheels when mounting. Hope it works out! I'm a bit insecure about the long bolts. They might break off. But for that case I've got a plan B! These parts are unprocessed out of the printer. Hope they fit well when processed! -
New Print Job
Jürgen M. replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The first part designed and printed! I might have to print again after I made some corrections but generally it looks pretty good I'd say! I decided not to put the mirror brackets on the doors. Freedom of art! ? The roof is in print! -
Hi everyone, I found a new Idea for a print project and just couldn't hide it! It'll be a mixture of these two trucks: Both a version of a 1960 Autocar DC75T with a sleepercab. I like them both so I'll try to extract the best of each and combine them to a hopefully successful build! I chose this truck because I always try to build at least one cabover and one conventional of a brand. Like I did with Marmon, Diamond Reo, GMC, ...! And since I built the ACX cabover last year, I needed a conventional to match it! And it's also not an everyday truck! The integrated sleepercab wasn't built that often if what I read was correct. Maybe some of you guys know more about it! Hope you'll like the build. I'll post the first design pics soon!

You need the doors decals of the "Widow" Brockway? Print this one a decal sheet! ? OK, it needs a bit of cutting but it's just like in the movie! Hope it helps ya! -

Convoy Rubber Duck Trailer

That makes sense! The original Ertl R.D. kit is not at all similar to the movie truck. Actually I already have posted my Convoy trucks in "Under Glass". I think the Titel was "Convoy"! If you like, I can of course send you some "making of. " pics. -
Convoy Rubber Duck Trailer

That sounds promising! I built 6 Convoy trucks in all. Now there's no more room! I just finished the "Bruhn Trucking" K100 about two months ago. Before that I built Big Nasty. You can find them all on this board! Pig Pen, Spider Mike and Widow Woman are also on the shelf! Can't wait to see yours! -

As a great Convoy fan I must say it's a great rebuild of one of my favorite trucks! Will you build other Convoy trucks too? -

Nice rig! Was the R.D. Mack a complete resin kit or did you put it together from resin and box parts? Hope it's OK if I show you mine here? -
Thanks Rockford! I don't know If I'll build a trailer for it. Space problem! If I will, it'll be a flatbed with a harvester on it!

Very nice! I like unusual trucks. The IH Conco I built is a similarly "ugly" truck but in my opinion both have a unique personality making them likable, especially for truck fans! I like your choice and what you made of it! Looking forward to seeing more! -
Thanks! I enjoyed building it too.

Double sleeper Bison

I know I'm repeating myself but when I look at my GMC General 1/25 it seems to be mine lacking detail! Just wow! -
1/32 Aerodyne refurb
Jürgen M. replied to Rockford's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
It's obvious that you love trucks! The way you work a blind man can see that you have quite an affinity to the big rigs! It's always fun to watch you make a great truck out of a 1/32 kit. I've built a few of them and I always had a direct comparison to the 1/25 kits. There was always a huge difference! Looking at yours, there is no difference at all! -
Hi Folks, I posted my do over of the Mack DM800 but completely forgot to post my last build! It's an IH Conco from 1975 designed and printed in my own workshop. First I want to thank everyone who tuned into my build for your great comments! The only parts not printed are Tires, air lines, mirror racks, antenna, fuel tank straps, exhaust support rack and marker lights. That should be all I guess! Enjoy!

Mack DM800 work over
Jürgen M. replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks! The printer is repaired. Works fine again! Still the next project will have to wait a while! Too many other things to do around the house! But I promise that the next project will come and the designing has begun! ? -
Hi everyone, I finished the work over on this DM800 (posted on WIP). For those who may have missed it I thought I'd show it here too: This is how it looked before! Boring and without any Paint and passion. This is the new look: New exhaust pipe and muffler, new bumper, winch and mud flaps (self designed and printed).

Mack DM800 refurnish
Jürgen M. replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
OK, I did it: The winch found its place! It's completely printed except for the short piece of wire connecting the hook and a piece of metal rod as an axle of the drum!
