  1. Hey guys, I couldn't wait. I began to do some rework on my R.D. Mack. Like I said I wanted to exchange the sleeper cab and the wheels in order to make it look more authentic. The chassis is in scale 1/24. It's from a Ford 9000 LTL from Italeri! That way it looked to big for the 1/25 scaled trailer. I'll have to put in a new front axle, of course with steering! I already printed the front rims and the sleeper is primered. A challenge will be the tilting of the hood and bullbar which didn't work before but I'll think of something. Here you can see the sleeper just put on loosely and not yet painted with base coat. These are the front rims. The tires are from Revell! This is how it looked before!
  2. Thanks! I'm always open for ideas though. I actually thought that I hadn't made enough pictures. ?
  3. Wow! Amazing details! I'm watching! ?
  4. Excelent! I'll be watching too. Quite a project there! ?
  5. Thanks Rockford! I'm flattered! Didn't expect such great feedback. After all, when I look at all the models you guys build with an unbeatable perfection, it's really a great compliment! ? Hope I can still compete with my next project. But before I start something completely new I'll do another workover on my R.D.! I printed a new sleeper cab and I'll do some cosmetic work on the bullbar and the wheels. They're scale 1/24 since the frame and chassis are from a Ford 9000 LTL from Italeri! I want to adjust those to 1/25 so the truck doesn't look too large compared to the trailer and the other trucks! After that I'll decide what comes next. Maybe another Convoy truck! ? I was thinking about "Big Nasty" or "Bruhn Trucking"!
  6. Thank you! ? It was fun building it! Some things didn´t turn out exactly like I had imagined but I´m satisfied after all. I´ll be trying out new parameters of printing to improve the surface quality and I hope the next one will turn out even better. Anyway it was fun sharing my experiences with printing truck models. It will be hard to decide what to do next. I´ll take my time and hope the ideas will just flow during the holidays. I was already thinking about the Coca Cola Truck from the Coke ad. You know, the one from the Christmas TV-Ads! Including illumination. But I´m not sure yet!
  7. Got the 20" container finished. Even put some dents and rust in it. Not too much but enough to make it look used. This is it: Hope you like it! That's all Folks for this year. I haven't yet decided what's next but I'll tell you as soon as I know! Till then I Wish everyone in the forum a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Please stay healthy and keep modelling as if it we're going out of style! Bye till next year. Yours, Jürgen
  8. Hi Guys! I'm back with more! ? Hope you like it! It's going to be a container carrier like the one's you see in harbors. The 20" container will also be selfmade. I know Italeri has one in it's portfolio but I wanted to print one. Anyway, this ist the way I build the two cranes. The piston rods are steel, also the axles of the crane sections. The rest ist printed. And below you can see the way it looks now. These are the supports so the Truck doesn't tilt over when lifting up a container! They won't be synchronized or anything. Just wanted them to work manually. As soon as the container ist finished, I'll show you more! the side walls are printed. Had to split them up due to the maximum size of printable parts being 20 x 20cms. Good thing I've got two printers working now. That's why the parts Look a little different. There are two different kinds of filament in use.
  9. Here are some pics of the completed truck. What comes on top will be confidential until the first working parts are printed and assembled! The suspense must be maintained! ? Till soon!
  10. Thank you! Actually you're right. It's quite satisfying to see how the self designed parts fit together and moving parts work. I,'m very aware of the fact that not all parts, including the cab, Look entirely authentic but I try to improve my designing with every new model. Anyway, I think this one's gonna look good one the shelf with all the other trucks. I'll keep you updated on the progress so stay tuned! ?
  11. But it's not finished yet! There's more to come! ?
  12. Hi everyone, finally there's more progress! Didn't have much time recently, that's why it took so long!
  13. Now the exhaust pipe and air filter are connected! ?
  14. Hi everyone, There´s some progress to report: The rack which holds the exhaust pipe and the air filter is mounted, as well as the just named parts: The cap on the exhaust pipe actually works. it opens and closes.
  15. Yeah, the tires and the printer have arrived! ? VID_20231205_130923.mp4
  16. Got the tires today. Rear wheels are ready to mount. Front wheels aren´t ready yet. They´re not as nice as I hoped, therefore one more round of printing!
  17. Hi Guys, here's the painted chassis with engine and shaft. Hope my new printer arrives soon. Want to geht the cab finished.
  18. And here's the engine: Will be painted soon! ?
  19. Hi everyone, The chassis is finally painted. As soon as I get the tires (had to order them, ran out with the Diamond Reo!) ? I can put on the wheels. Anyway, it's going forward bit by bit. The engine is ready to be painted, will happen tomorrow or saturday! This was the test if everything fits in!
  20. Nice! ? I like doing the exotic stuff! Looks like a great challenge. Did you print the cab parts yourself? My printer hardly does the rivetts and other details Like the cab you've got. It's gonna look pretty authentic that way. I'll keep watching!
  21. Hi Folks, the engine is in print. Had to design a new Transmission because the one I used for the Diamond Reo COE was too big. Since the front part of the chassis is lowered the standard engine doesn't fit. I also made a new oil pan. It's flatter so it doesn't interfere with the steering rod! I also printed the rack which holds the air filter, and the exhaust system. Tomorrow hopefully I'll get the new printer. The new filament arrived yesterday. That's why I was able to go on with printing! I also had to change the position of the turbo charger from the right side to the rear of the engine and therefore also the intake and exhaust manifolds. You'll get to see those soon. Stay tuned! ?
  22. Thanks Rockford. I´ve primered the chassis in the mean time, soon I´ll put on the top coat. The front rims are in print (for the third time!) had problems with my printer. Hope they´ll turn out ok this time.
  23. Wow, I'm really happy about your feedback, thanks! ? I've made a little further Progress but now I have to take a break because my filament is bound to end! Have to wait a few days till new supplies get delivered! But of course I'll show you what's happened in the mean time! The break cylinders and the tank support are mounted. The rear rims are also finished but will not be mounted before having painted the chassis! By the way, I'm also expecting a new printer. I'm really excited about that 'cause it's going to be more automated. Print bed leveling ist no more a manual pain in the ...! And it prints a bit faster than the old one! Hope the quality ist also as much better as promised! We'll know soon! ?
  24. A little update on the chassis: VID_20231124_193357.mp4
