"That will be $12.76" she said, so I handed her a twenty, two singles, three quarters and a penny, she looked at me like I was stupid and exclaimed "you gave me too much money!"

Tired after a long, busy, arduous day at work, he sat down at his bench, hoping to make some progress on his '32 Ford Sedan build-off project, but he nodded off and spilled his paint

"Lies!", she cries as she eats her french fries, hoping they won't increase the size of her thighs, because she loves their flavor and they were whim buys.

I have to agree with each and every one of the above posts, plus in the same vein, I REALLY enjoy the dreaming, scheming, imagining, researching, planning and acquiring (or finding in my stash) kits and aftermarket parts (plus hopefully soon-to-be self made 3D printed) for present and future builds. I still need to learn how to produce the artwork for custom decals so I can have a vendor such as STS print them for me. I am also a member of the San Diego Model Car Club, but due to my work schedule, can't attend the monthly meetings, which I miss terribly. That being said, it looks like I have about seven more years until I can retire and play my music and build model cars pretty much full time. I just hope I have enough time left on this earth after that to achieve my dreams...

Fun things we enjoyed in our youth become sorely missed activities that we're not physically capable of doing any longer as our minds stay young but our bodies grow older.

Back in 1983, friends called in a favor on me to do tech inspections at the VW Magazine sponsored "Bug In"s at Orange County International Raceway (OCIR). I wasn't really interested in VW drag racing and had refused them in doing this job a couple of times before. Anyway, one of the first orders-of-business on race day was to enter the event staff's "Oil Down Pool", predicting the number of race track oil exposure clean-ups that would delay racing during the day. My guess was 22, thinking that these dumb Bugs would be exploding engines or clutches left-and-right as they launched. Not only was I TERRIBLY wrong on the reliability of race-bug engines, I was AMAZED and impressed by the vast number of 12 second street bugs that went down the track.

Sometimes units of measurement for money vary widely from nation to nation throughout the world, for example, I'm a multi-millionaire in obsolete devalued Mexican pesos from the seventies.

Where did you get the injected 426 from? Some of my future projects are the '66 H.U.G. and converting the current H.U.G. kit into the '68 version, one with an injected 426 and one with a supercharged 426. (I have 4 of the misboxed MPC 38418 kits in my stash)

Been there.... Rib injuries are TORTURE! Take it easy, Bill, until you're comfortable walking around, twisting and bending again, don't let the pain get to a point where you can't inhale.

dating back to the wondrous days of yesteryear, gasoline was 36 cents a gallon, model car kits were $2.00, Hot Wheels cars were a dollar, candy bars were 10 cents and a bottle of soda cost a quarter, then you got a nickel back for the bottle deposit
