disheartening as it is, it also disturbs me deeply that those "less experienced" in our midst are predominantly too stuck on themselves, prideful and just plain ignorant to take advantage of what we can teach them

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?

Well, folks, it ain't just the USPS that suffers incompetence. I ordered 2 gallons of Valvoline automatic transmission fluid that are not available locally from WalMart.com on Friday, March 21. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I received text notices a little after 7:30am Saturday that my order had been delivered. The box would have been a bit heavy, so I didn't expect my wife to take it into the house and certainly not carry it from our front porch to the garage, so I expected to find it still on our porch when I arrived home from work. When I got home, no box on the porch... I called my wife and asked her if she'd seen a shipment from WalMart and she hadn't. I then tracked the order, it WAS delivered "at or near the mailbox" at 7:29am, in FLOYDS KNOBS, INDIANA. I don't know where Floyd's Knobs is in Indiana, but it is definitely NOT in Southern California... I then contacted WalMart customer service to find out that WalMart.com had shipped my order to the wrong address. -

We had a recall election here in California in which the ballots were mail in or drop off only. I took my wife's and my ballots to the County Registrar of Voters' office and placed them both in the drop off bin at the same time. After the election, I tracked our ballots, hers was counted, my ballot was deemed "not received"... I LOUDLY oppose anything but in-person voting at an official Polling Place. -

Tomorrow you can come to Southern California, Bill, where there are way too many dingle berries driving on the freeways that you can easily outrun if they don't swerve in front of you as you're attempting to pass.

Seen very frequently in my imagination is a scene where I'm enjoying a beautiful, warm, sunny day on a tropical beach in a far away land with my toes in the sand and a Mai Tai in my hand

workday blues ruled my emotional state early this morning as today is my "Monday" and I wasn't ready for the expiration of my weekend

Many, many moons ago, I bought the biggest jar of my favorite peanut butter at the grocery store. A few days later, I opened it up to make myself a sandwich (this was before the plastic heat-shrink seals were added to the lids) and found that someone had taken a huge two-finger generated scoop from the jar, closed it back up and put it back on the shelf. (This happened in Southern California in the mid-90s)

Guy from the HPI tried to build the Revell / Atlantis '57 Chevy Nomad in two days and frustrated himself terribly, be that as it may, given appropriate skill, attention to small details, ingenuity, patience and time, this kit can be built into quite a nice model car.
