O'clock is a phrase we don't hear used any more, and it drives me nuts to constantly hear the now common utterances like "8 a.m. in the morning"

The GT350-H Hertz Rent-A-Racers were mainly black with gold stripes, but a limited number were also produced in Sapphire Blue, Ivy Green, Candy Apple Red and Wimbledon White, all with gold stripes. One of my bucket list projects is to replicate each color, plus a "Tim's Dream Car" GT350-H in Emberglo, and another in Corvette Inferno Orange, so I have several of the Monogram / Revell '66 Shelby GT350-H kits in my stash. We just learned that AMT-Round2 is going to release their '66 Mustang in a Shelby GT350 version in the not-too-distant future. I'm curious to see how it will compare to the Monogram / Revell model kit...

It took a few days for everything to arrive... Bob Shane of the Folk Group "The Kingston Trio" told Carroll Shelby that if Shelby ever produced a GT350 Convertible, he'd be in line to buy one. Caroll built 4, 6S2377 was Candyapple Red, whicch Bob purchased. The remaining 3 were Guardsman Blue, Ivy Green and Springtime Yellow. When I recently learned of this, I was inspired to kit-bash and build my own 1:24 scale replicas. Technical details of each car are next to impossible to find on the web, but I DID learn that the Ivy Green car was an automatic and the Guardsman Blue car was a 4-Speed. (I believe that there were 2 Four Speeds and 2 A/Ts, the Red car was a 4-Speed and the Yellow car was an A/T) My project cars are the Guardsman Blue and Ivy Green editions. To build these, I got 2 each of the Revell '65 Mustang Convertibles and the '66 Shelby GT350s, a Small Block Ford C6 transmission, A/T shifter from the AMT '67 Comet Cyclone, Jay's Resin wheels, Cragar GTs for the blue car, Shelby 10-Spokes for the green car, decals from Keith Marks.

All of the current Revell kits in 1:24 scale with the possible exception of the 2017 Ford GT were originally Monogram kits. They have few to no build options, but are pretty well detailed ans easier to build than most of the kits produced by the other manufacturers. Also, the AMT craftsman Plus kits are curbside and easy to build.

disheartening as it is, it also disturbs me deeply that those "less experienced" in our midst are predominantly too stuck on themselves, prideful and just plain ignorant to take advantage of what we can teach them

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?

Well, folks, it ain't just the USPS that suffers incompetence. I ordered 2 gallons of Valvoline automatic transmission fluid that are not available locally from WalMart.com on Friday, March 21. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I received text notices a little after 7:30am Saturday that my order had been delivered. The box would have been a bit heavy, so I didn't expect my wife to take it into the house and certainly not carry it from our front porch to the garage, so I expected to find it still on our porch when I arrived home from work. When I got home, no box on the porch... I called my wife and asked her if she'd seen a shipment from WalMart and she hadn't. I then tracked the order, it WAS delivered "at or near the mailbox" at 7:29am, in FLOYDS KNOBS, INDIANA. I don't know where Floyd's Knobs is in Indiana, but it is definitely NOT in Southern California... I then contacted WalMart customer service to find out that WalMart.com had shipped my order to the wrong address. -

We had a recall election here in California in which the ballots were mail in or drop off only. I took my wife's and my ballots to the County Registrar of Voters' office and placed them both in the drop off bin at the same time. After the election, I tracked our ballots, hers was counted, my ballot was deemed "not received"... I LOUDLY oppose anything but in-person voting at an official Polling Place. -

Tomorrow you can come to Southern California, Bill, where there are way too many dingle berries driving on the freeways that you can easily outrun if they don't swerve in front of you as you're attempting to pass.

Seen very frequently in my imagination is a scene where I'm enjoying a beautiful, warm, sunny day on a tropical beach in a far away land with my toes in the sand and a Mai Tai in my hand
