  1. That Malibu wagon looks good! I think you're going in the right direction Raul... smaller in front and lower all around.
  2. beautiful detail!!!
  3. Hey, that looks familiar... LOL I'm doing the 32 Rat Rod chopped and channeled too (see other topic). Yours looks great! Keep wprking on it and keep posting pics. I love that look! Eric
  4. Update pics... I feel like I've been spending a lot of time on this, but looking at the pics, I feel like I haven't made much progress yet. But I did get the interior done (How you like that huge tunnel for the driveshaft?). Putting the gas cap on the roof is off the list. I don't have enough room in the interior to make that realistic. Almost have the visor done. Have to sand and primer some more. Short term to-do list includes finishing and mounting the engine, making an exhaust, finish brake lines, weather exterior and frame, work on headlights and taillights (and license plate) and I'm thinking of putting some wires behind the dash that hang down a little. And of course that cool suicide shifter. Many thanks to Raul for guidance, examples and parts!!!!!

    79 Camaro

Thanks for the great feedback everyone! I appreciate it. Raul, I looked for a way to edit the post but couldn't find an edit option... Where is it? I didn't want to say anything about the exhaust clamps until I posted... I thought you'd like that. I used to have a 94 Camaro that I loved alot until I slid down a hill backwards in the snow with. I got a 4x4 that spring. But I've always loved the body style of these camaros. Did anyone notice the red, white and blue blower openings? Thanks everyone. Eric
  6. Those both look GREA! I love the look of those old cars.
  7. Cool!!! Great job!

    79 Camaro

oops... It's a 79. In my haste (holding the baby) I must not have been paying attention... Forgot to add, it's also lowered about 1/8 inch in the front as well.

    79 Camaro

Z28 Dark Mica Blue Pegasus Wheels Custom exhaust Not the best kit I've dealt with so far. Most of the pieces had a lot of flashing and they weren't molded together too well. But I'm happy with the outcome.
  10. Great job! (literally... no alternative meaning... ) Those tires and the wood grain are beautiful.
  11. Beautiful.
  12. Voted model, but wanted to say real. My reasons: Curb behind the vehicle is not apparent in front of it. There don't appear to be any brake calipers. The rear rim looks a little funny where it should be black. The reflection in the paint doesn't look right. Awesome nontheless.
  13. Is that a model or is that real...? Nice work!
  14. Your Monte Carlo is looked great!
  15. That thing is pretty bad! Keep posting pics, I want to see how it turns out.
  16. I love that Frankenrod! If you look at my inspiration photo you can see the chop welds are visible (smooth, not rough like the Frankenrod) and I'm going to do the same wuith a little silver/aluminum dry brushing.
  17. ok. Let me know what you think... I finally got the suspension, body and interior to sit where I want it so here's some pics. The top was chopped and lengthened about 1/16th inch to sit right. Still have some sanding and fixing to do on the body, but it's pretty close. Lots of THANKS to Raul for guidance and for sharing his vast knowledge. Here's my inspiration... Yes, I'm going to do the suicide shifter too!!!! But instead of the white walls, I'm using some nice beefy drag tires in the back and some big rounders in the front. Tires are from a 79 Camaro model. I plan to do the visor and put the gas cap on the roof too. I moved the front suspension over the frame and in front of the radiator. I used the same set up as the car in the picture. The interior has a serious hump to clear the driveshaft. Won't be comfy to drive... LOL. These are my color tests. Brown primer with brown and black pastel powder, followed by a clear matte. I think it came out pretty darn close to the picture. I can slide a piece of paper under the frame... perfect.
  18. Wow. Truely awesome work and great detail. I did notice that you like the color red too. You do some great work!
  19. Post some pics of what you end up doing...
  20. ok. Here's my second (green) and first (black) 41 Willys. The black one was done prior to discovering this forum... the green is very much influenced by everything I've seen here and was the first for many things for me... First hinged doors and trunk (although the lower door hinges hit the seats and prevent them from fully closing... doh! Learning experience). First attempt at using a wash (interior and engine). First time attempting such detail. First time making seat belts. First time using special glue for the windshield, lights, etc... (big difference in finish quality). You can see a big difference in build quality between the black one and the green one. Enjoy! I did... I would like to know what you think and where I should pay more attention... except the door hinges (I know to pay more attention to that now). Thanks for viewing.
  21. Those look really good! I'm going to have to get good at using a wash because it makes a world of difference... like Pro Football vs College Football. Thanks for the great examples! I now have high goals to shoot for.
  22. Beautiful. That blue really looks good. How do you go about lowering the suspension?
  23. Wow awesome carbs! They look perfect / real. I picked up 4 bottles of acrylic (Tamiya) today (to start...). I darkedened some tan in a contained and thinned it with water and tried it out. Being able to wash it with windex and start over is GREAT! I used the darnened tan on the tan interior and it came out ok. Definitely need to practice and develope my own technique. Definitely trying to keep it to a minimum... but if I don't like it after it dries I'll just windex it a little... or a lot. : Also used some dark gray on some engine parts and I'm very happy how that came out. Thank you for the guidance. I'll put up some pics of it in the "under glass" section. Eric
  24. That's very cool!
  25. Wow. Thanks for all the valuable input. I'm learning alot! I'm stopping by the hobby shop tomorrow and plan to pick up some acrylic. And some med tape for seat belts at the grocery store. I'm eager to try this now that I can "erase" it if I don't like it. Eric
