  1. Great lookin build! I'd like to see some more pics of the engine chassis too.
  2. Raul, That pickup looks great. The flames were executed perfectly and the detail is top notch. How do you find the time to do all this? Are you sure you're not retired....?
  3. VERY Nice! It's a great looking car.
  4. Great looking paint and interior! The exhaust looks great on there too.

    32 Rat Rod

THANKS for all the great, positive comments everyone! I greatly appreciate all the wonderful feedback and I'm glad you like my new Rat. It really adds to my satisfaction level. I agree, these are addictive. I've already started a second one (not as low this time) and am tossing around a few ideas for more. I've also picked up some hot rad mags featuring rat rods. THANKS EVERYONE! Eric

    32 Rat Rod

ok. Let me know what you think... Just finished my Rat. Gotta admit this took longer than any other model I've done and was also more involved. This one contained many firsts for me and I'm proud of this baby!
  9. I tried a little black food coloring in some future for the t-tops on my 79 camaro. I didn't have an airbrush so they may work better, but brushing in on an d hoping for it to self level doesn't work. Had dark and light spots and the black food coloring actually had a green tint to it. Needless to say, I cleaned it up and the t-tops are clear...
  10. Awesome! Loks like it will take you for a quick death-ride!
  11. Well, this thread is probably old for everyone now and it seems to have developed into quite a hot topic. But I feel I have a middle of the road view of this and therefore would like to share... My relatives on both sides are from Germany and came here prior to WWII so I claim no affiliation to the North, South, nor Nazis. I did however grow up in NC for 11 yrs and now reside in Md. So I've been in the Civil War area for my entire life. My view on caucasians and the flag... Some take pride in it for historical reason (their ancestors revolted from the union for anyone of many reasons) and probably are enbarassed to be seen with it anymore because of the whole issue around it nowadays. Others could care less about the historical aspect and fly it as a symbol of rebellion (ie. young, inoccent rebelleous teenagers). Lastly there are those who fly it for the shock value and because it has developed into something mean and degrading to others. My view on African-Americans... They see it as a symbol of slavery, racism, degredation and hate. And justly so. I've talked to some close African-American coworkers about some of the issues in the news over the last few years and we've had frank, fair conversations about this. My conclusion... The flag is part of our history and we should honor that history by learning as much as we can about both sides of the war. If someone wants to have a symbol of hate, or love, or whatever... be original and develop your own symbol. Like the gay and lesbians did with the rainbow sticker. We don't have slaves anymore, nor outhouses, nor do we rely on horses to get to work... times change and we move on. We learn from our past so we can make better decisions in the future. We are not North and South, we are one nation. We need to put aside past differences, and respect our fellow Americans... both black and white. soapbox cleared...
  12. That belongs in the real or model section. Looks GREAT!
  13. I really like that cowl steering box. Thanks for the idea. It will be used and should look cool next to the suicide shifter!
  14. Thanks for the info. I had never heard of aoshima. I need to get some of those tires. Nice CJ! She's going to need more than a little work though. But she has the potential to look great. You ever take your JK to Raush Creek in Pa (http://www.rauschcreekoffroadpark.org/)?
  15. Feel like I made some goo dprogress last night. Body is ready, suspension, brake lines are all done... engine is coming along too. I added a few wires under the dash just to try it out, will be difficult to see when finished I think though. Here's some pics. Let me know what you think. Feedback is appreciated.
  16. Lookin good man! Where did you get those big, cool tires? I am tossing around the idea of a CJ model myself and want to put on some meaty tires, but have only been able to locate scale "road" tires, no off-road tires. I have an '03 TJ myself that I use and abuse...
  17. Wow. What a great variety of life here. I work for a Major Wireless service provider (Can you hear me now?) as a circuit design engineer (mostly focused on landline connectivity between cell sites and our switching centers, Fiber, Microwave and some mobile switch hardware engineering). Also do a lot of project management and special projects. I was outside NYC on 9-11 and came back here that afternoon only to spend all day 9-12 setting up a microwave shot at the pentagon to cover that effort. I am also on the wireless curriculum advisory committee at Montgomery County College and have taught the intro to wireless class there. (yes, the montgomery county where the beltway shooter started his spree) I also do some acting. I've been on America's Most Wanted, The Wire, a few movies (been cut out of more movies) and in the Baltimore Opera. I also met Nicole Kidman on the set of The Invasion and stood next to Keith Urban (gave me a "what's up" nod) and Daniel Craig. It's just a fun hobby... Before that I was a radio frequency engineer at the same place. I engineered the RF for Camden Yards, Ravens Stadium and the Verizon Center (formerly MCI Center). Before that I was a cell site technician Before that I worked internationally on Lan/Wan networks and Cellular networks in Germany, Korea and Argentina (where I met my wife. We just sold the small apartment we had there). Before that I was in the Army as an M1A1 Armor Crewman in Germany. I drove the tank, and fired a few rounds. I want to get into management now so I'm looking around for the next opportunity....
  18. She's a beauty!
  19. Bienvenido! Nice work on those cars and the bike too. I like the flames cut into the hood of the pickup! Eric

    32 Sedan

That's really cool! I wouldn't think it would look that cool with the front higher like that, but it just right for an old racer like that. Great job!
  21. Great looking Ford! The stance is awesome and the colors are very nice. Good work!
  22. WOW! Beautiful work and beautiful detail!
  23. Looks cool! Have you thought of running a big fat exhaust under the cab and then up theough the roof behind the cab? Would look kinda cool and be different. If it's low and flat black (maybe looking a little unkept) I would call it a rat. Keep posting pics. I want to see how it comes out. Eric
  24. That is really sweet!
