Picked up this kit with the intentions to build it just like this. I wanted a old work truck someone backyard painted and threw a fresh 360 in to use as weekend landscape truck and a weekday 9-5 blue collar commuter. Building this kit was fun. Painted with Rustoleum semi gloss hunter green. The paint really looks the part. Interior was done with Tamiya AS 15. Used the CB and CB antenna which was nice. I am going to say user error on this one but I did read that others had issues with cab and box fitment. I had a time trying to get it all together but the bed sag look really suits the look I was going for so even if it was the kit it worked well. This is one of my first builds where I did not feel up to weathering the under body, which I may go back and do, but its funny that the under body actually looks like patio furniture now, I guess the Rustoleum did what it was actually intended to do...good thing the body looks old Dodge ISH. P.S. Who needs mirror glass right.

This is my first Truck post on this forum. I love this generation of Ford Trucks. This Revell kit was absolutely amazing. Great detail and molds, tons of parts and just an all around dream to build. I really enjoyed building this kit. Looking to buy the newest Revell release of the extended cab, flare side kit. Am I ever glad this is a truck because the paint is weathered. The weathering and different shades on the cab and box was all because the nozzle on the Dupli Color failed and started leaking mid paint job. I paint off site so its a do or die paint mission. The rough texture was achieved by not sanding the primer because I was just so excited to paint... This was one of my first Dupli Color jobs and I learned a ton on how to spray and prep with this paint. Finished with Dupli Color Ford Pacific Green Metallic, Interior is Tamiya TS 81. This truck has earned its keep as my work bench "shop truck" hence the dust. I usually store parts in the bed while working on a kit. The pit bike, jack and tool box are from a MPC D100 kit that I will showcase soon.

Thanks for the kind words! I was on a wing and prayer and it worked out. Hopefully I can keep this up!

Yeah all the greats say to have the primer smooth, I see why now! I'm going to mess around with this more with Tamiya cans as it's not as "hot". Thanks for the kind words!

Not offended one bit! Making a model look like it was on the road for a few years in its day is so cool. I guess I was on to something ! Thanks for the post!!!

Thanks. Id say it was really detailed and honestly not bad at all.

Thanks for the kind words!!! I'm sure your kit will turn out just fine. My biggest flaw was not following the instructions and then needing to re construct everything lol! Can't wait to see your completed build. You can do it!

Yeah I need to take out the Sharpie for a few things...Thanks for the tip!

This was a kit I picked up on Clearance at Wal-Mart. There was some user error for sure on the assembly of the rear end and front bumpers. After assembly I found that the body was warped, or I completely hooped something. I also had a time and a half with the decals. Once again, probably me not the kit. Overall I am actually very pleased with the build. I have always loved this Camaro with the round taillights. This kit was yet another testing subject where I was going to give Rustoleum paint a go as my top coat. I picked up this paint as a cheap engine color to use on various builds that require orange blocks. The body was molded in orange so I sent it and sprayed right on the plastic, no primer light prep. I am surprised how well it turned out with no polishing or clears. The engine and engine bay in this car shocked me in how decent it worked out. I learned a ton on this kit and if given the opportunity I would build another. For a car I had zero expectation for and a build that went sideways numerous times I am actually liking this car.

Happy New Years!!! This is a Revell snap curbside kit I picked up for cheap. I have always liked the W body GMs, I have the Revell 91, 92 GTP and the 89, 90 Grand Prix kits but do not have the courage or skill to open them yet. This kit was my second attempt at Dupli Color and at doing weather stripping and trim without an airbrush, the results were not great. The paint looks alright not as much aggressive orange peel like my C5. I loved that this kits interior was molded in the GM blue scheme. I really love the interior detail on this kit. This kit is built like an ex police car someone has bought and turned into a cheap daily driver. Finished in Dupli Color GM Storm Gray Metallic. A similar color was available on the 9C1. The interior is the bare plastic done as the 9C1 blue interior. My first kit where I dry brushed the under body to weather it. The trim is a disaster so I wont bring it up again Overall I like modeling contemporary cars that would be within my grasp at a time in the past or near future. I like this generation of Impala, now if Revell could release the SS with the supercharged 3800 that would be GREAT!!!

This is how I want to model one day!! Great build, car looks excellent!

Oh my! The amount of detail in that door jam and trunk alone is astonishing! The whole kit is done very well!!!

Hey thank you brother! I picked up the Revell 1993 40th Anniversary C4. It was a good deal and I have always had a soft spot for the C4. I'd like to get another C5 and that Grand Sport C4.

This looks great. Love the paint job. Keep it up!!!!

Hey good work, I love everyday cars and this is an amazing example of one!!! Keep it up!!!

My plan with this kit was exactly like my others, make a factory fresh looking example of this car sticking to factory colors. With that being said I wanted to try Dupli-Color as I could nail down the factory colors on my models, which are mostly everyday cars. After researching I sent it and bought a few cans of the colors I wanted and thought I would use this kit as a test. Bright Aqua Metallic was the closest GM color I could get to an available 1997 color on the Corvette, Nassau Blue was the goal. One day I will airbrush but due to space restrictions I need to keep it to rattle cans for now. This model has been primed in Rustoleum which I think was flaw 1, I need to use Dupli-Color primer and potentially sealer. Spraying the stuff was a learning point as its not a can of model paint. Not the happiest with this model but I cleared it with Dupli-Color clear and polished it with Tamiya compounds. The interior is just black primer with various glosses. This kit was a JOY to put together and has hit me with a Corvette bug. I need to build another one of these and do it right. I also picked up a C4 and now I have the C4 bug so yeah more to come...
