  1. Funny you should ask, I took a couple quick pics last night... Started doing some of the preliminary paint detailing on the engine. Drilled the plug holes in the rocker covers for some rubber boots. First coats of paint on the oil filter and the fuel pump. Forgot to drill the pump for a fuel line prior to painting... Also got some of the chassis / floor pan work comepleted, too...It is difficult to tell in the pic, but I have two different semi gloss blacks on the K-Memeber and subframe to add a little visual interest. Also detailed the tie rods and torsion abrs with two seperate shades of metalizers. Still need to ass some more lite weathering and a maybe some lite rust. Last but not least, here is the DANA rear end from the HEMI Dart kit installed in the Charger chassis, along with the "mini-tubs" I added. I also started the interior door panels and flocking the floor. I have a lot of little things getting in my way on this build, for example my Aztek airbrush finally took a dump, after upteen years, so I need to send it back and have it repaired. On top pf that, I am waiting for a couple parts too... Been a fun build so far.... As usual, questions, comments and critiques always welcome.....
  2. Or you can get some pretty decent photo etched units from Eduard, one of the shops I visit from time to time had 'em and I grabbed 'em. Not too bad...
  3. Terry, thanks for the mention, however, I normally don't really sweat those details unless I plan on showing the car somwhere other than on the web or in my display case. Also, once the axel is installed and mounted to the leaf springs, you don't even see it. Thanks again,
  4. George, The modifications to the interior wont be noticed, I only had to shave the bottom of the pacakge shelf, and if I was more careful, I would not have even broken through. I took a thin sheet of styrene, and made a new floor. Anyone will be ahrd pressed to notice, with the flocking and paint on it...Well, back to the bench....
  5. So while I am finishing up the layout of the suspension on Project Snoball, and while waiting for decals and clear to cure on my Chadwick Camaro Funny, and during the gathering of reference and parts for my HEMI Dart factory build, I started another build..... I wanted to build a street worthy competitor, something you may have seen in the late 60's or early 70's at some point. So I wanted to fit a bigger than stock tire under the car with out going the whole pro street route with big silly tubbs and all.... So I took an old resin back half that I had doing nothing and cut the tubs free from it, and added them to the 67's Chassis. This way I could use the slicks and and rear end from the HEMI Dart kit.... Next I decided that I may need a bit more oil capacity on a street racing HEMI so, I extended the sump on the stock oil pan like a lot of the junior stockers used to do... So there is where I am at, I have since mounted the leaf springs, after moving them inboard. I alsoe used the DANA from the HEMI dart kit and hope to have it installed soon... As always, questions, comments and critiques welcome.
  6. In doing my research for an "as delivered" HEMI Dart, I have decided that this one will be built as an automatic. Can somebody chime in on the tranmission and rear end combo, I seem to recall that with the Torque Flite, the car had an 8 and 3/4 rear installed and a DANA with the manual trans. Can anyone confirm this to be accurate? I am trying to make this build as "accurate" as possible. Thanks in advance....
  7. Snap kit I started moons ago, finally finished it up.... Testors Laquer Stirling Silver, MM Gun Metal on the wheels... More pics, soon as I get them all uploaded and orginized.... As usual, questions, comments and critiques welcome....
  8. Ed, Those are the decals from the kit, and are a spin off of a real car, see pic... You can get the Zintsmaster Decals from Decals By Lucas, Rick Lucas, hell of a nice guy, nice product and great service!!!! Say hi for me!!
  9. Dave, Thanks, that is exactly what I am up to, want to use the new slicks in the dart under the Charger....
  10. John, Man you gotta stop this, you're killing me....LOL... Another winner man!!!!
  11. Well, I have not ahd it near a year, 8 weeks maybe, tonite I will check to postage label for a date. You guys make the call on this one, OK? I had a discussion "off forum" with Jason, in reference to "speed of working". I told him that I have a full time job, three kids and a wife. I work on models to "ease" my mind from my work days... SO here it is, I am working on a 4-link, airbagged suspesnion, and finally made some brackets that I like. Let me know if you'd all like to me keep going or send it along. Again, no drama, no BS, just let me know....
  12. So in between all else I am working on, such as Snoball redux, Vettes for my kids, I have started to build a 67 Charger. I was at the LHS the other day, saw the reissue, already have two, and bought it. I like the look of the drag version, so.... Anyway, between the other stuff on the bench, I am toying with a layout for the build, aiming for a 70's-ish "Street Fighter" feel. So I started working on the HEMI and decided that the I want to use the new slicks and wheels from the Hemi Dart kit, since my first build of that one will be as delivered with no slicks, per a pick I found on the web.... So, on the my question, I need more clearance out back for those killer looking slicks. I am considering moving the leaf springs inward to make some add'l room for the wider tires. Would it be correct, or at least reasonable so to move the springs and pockets to the sub fram rail and attache them there? I would put them inside the rails, but that would require a MAJOR rework as the fule tank is in the way. So, any thoughts, comments and suggestions are always welcomed. thanks
  13. Hmmm...now the problem to decide which kit to build....LOL....
  14. I am working on a 67 Charger, that I am going to build as a 70's Street Fighter, and I want to use Rat Roaster. Does anyone know if a kit that contains one? I know I can get one in resin, two different styles in fact, but if I can get one in a kit, more parts for the parts stash. Thanks,
  15. Aaron, Stellar build, I have one in the works also, started body mods with new front and rear panels, and opened the roof.....I really need ot get back to it, but after seeing this one, not sure it is worth it...LOL....
  16. John, AMAZING job as always....I picked this kit up from Speed City also, I saved a couple of your pics for reference, hope ya dont mind. Againm great build...
  17. Michele, Thanks for the lead.....However, no need to make you own, Decasl by Lucas does them now, that is what resparked my interest in doing a Mod Top again!!!! www.decalsbylucas.com Thanks again,
  18. Finally I have found a souce for some Mopar Mod Top decals, thanks to Decals by Lucas...Does anyone know what year Cudas were offered with Mod Tops???? Yes, I know I could probably do a google seach, and I did, but was hoping someone had more specific info on years. Thanks,
  19. NOPE......
  20. That's how I like to do it Steve...
  21. Nice build, maybe add some "Race worn" weathering to help hide the wrinkles??? ....that is another one of those kits that I regret not buying when I could....
  22. LOL....Ken, and me like a jack ____ (insert noun) got sucked in. I forgot all about this fool until about 30 seconds after posting my adivce. That made me laugh even harder as I remembered all the "stuff" that went on with the BMF and other issues with this guy....
  23. Mike, I scored the McEwen kit couple days ago, really nice, same as the Blue MAx kit, one pc chassis, new slicks, BUT, my body was a short shot....I will probably buy a couple more of these only becsause of the one piece chassis, as it is much easier to build a straight car with one...Decals, seem ok, but the white is a decal, I may use this body to test the decals, and see how opaque they are....
  24. Guys, In my spare time (LOL)....I have been tossing around the idea to build a shop to display some of my builds and maybe even tell a little story also...I have made some sketches and drawn some rough plans for a two bay shop with small show room and a "back office". Part of the floor, for the show room area will be stained wood, and I plan to use some coffee stirrers I got from someone a long time ago, little stain, some clear, nice wood floor. For the rest of the shop I want to have a "concrete floor. I would like some input / ideas for methods of doing this. I plan on using some posterboard for the walls with some paint on the inside and some Plastruct Cinder Block on the outsides, or some combination there of. I am going this way as it is my first real jump into something this large and would like it to be a pleasant expirence for me...LOL... Again, any thoughts on the topic would be appreciated, also any other thoughts, ideas or comments to be shared are appreciated.
  25. No, I liked it so much, I bought a can myself.....
