Mike, Make it happen, if the quality is there, so will my money.....

Mike, It is a Flintstone body, he recently did several altered style bodies. He did a Nova, a Mustang and a 34 Ford, which I also picked up at NNL East. They use either a Bantam Blast or a Winged Express kit as a donor,... Nikko, thanks for the kinda words....The chassis is from a Winged Express kit, and the body from Jimmy Flintstone. Thanks

Time has been tight lately, as the wife recently gave birth to child number three.... I have managed to get some work done on the Vette altered, this is how it looked when last we saw it... This was just prior to fitting the body, engine and interior parts mounted. Test shot with body laid on the finished chassis And finally with some paint applied. Originally this was to be painted red and white like Lightning McQueen, per my four year olds request. However, some time later, he decided on blue and white. So I shot some Testors Star Spangled Blue over dark grey primer, and used some Tamiya White Primer for the coves. Once both coves and the tonneau are painted, the body will get a coat of furture and some decals from the MK Camaro. Speaking of the MK Camaro.... this one will be come a very loose representation of one of Kelly Chadwicks Camaros....

Corvette Altered Update.....finally.....
Len Geisler replied to Len Geisler's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks!!!! The body is by Jimmy Flintstone, he does 4 or 5 "Altered" style bodies now....This, a 34 Ford, Mustang, Nova, and I forget the other, may be a new Challanger.... -
Finally got some house work outta the way and more importantly got my injector stacks, thanks to Rick from Scale Dreams... Anyway, I got some more engine work done, laid in the manifold, timing cover, and headders.. Headders are from a 57 PM kit I parted out some time ago, and the manifold is from the Rat Packer kit, along with the engine block and heads. the valve covers are resin copies I made from an old AMT Nova (IIRC) kit. This has been an enjoyable build, as it isn't supposed to be any one car just this car....I hope to get some more chassis work done by the end of the weekend. Here is a shot with the body on, I love the stance and look of this car....My son decided it needs to be red and white, just like Lightening McQueen....So, some Reving Red and Pearl White are in order for color coats... As ususal, questions, comments and critiques are welcome....

I finished this one up the other day, first for 2010, half way to my 2009 build total....LOL... Anyway, I chose this car, as to put it in TXRat's words, "it hasn't been built to death. I shot this one with Tamiya White, straight from the can and used some of my favorite Meguiars all purpose product to make it shine a little more. I took some liberties with the build, as I just wanted to get 'er done, and did. Slixx decals, tires from Ma's Resin, Revell 421 Parts Pack Engine (the kit has a BBC), otherwise, box stock. I took some liberties, as all the details are not perfect but it is built, and I think looks very well...Now once the now melts a little I can take more pictures... As always, questions, comments and critiques welcome...

Len Geisler replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, lets see now... 105 in my 2002 Impala, speed limited 200 KPH (about 125 MPH) in a Peugot Wagon on the Autobahn in 2008 148 MPH as a passenger in an old friends Callaway Almost forgot, about 185 in a cup car during a ride along at Pocono -
Jody, Thanks, I did not look too closely when I shot the pics, they are not mounted to the car yet, as I still ahve some work to do to the wheels, but thanks for the comments!!!

Well, I have finally found some time to get back to the bench for more than seven minutes and decided to do a drag car build. I used the K.I.S.S. method on this one and learned a valuable lesson... KISS = COmpleted Builds....LOL.. This is from the Model King reissue, I know it isnt totaly accurate, but I wanted a nice quick build for the shelf. Slixx, provided the Jesse Tyree decals for the car. Anyway, enough of my bs, here are the pics.... Shot with Tamiya gloss white, right outta the can, that was one of the KISS rules, no airbrush All spray cans, make for less time spent cleaning up and more time building Kinda hard to see here, but the dash is all Sharpies and gel pens for the detailing And finally a shot of those killer slicks from Al @ Ma's Resin, nice soft rubber OH YEA... As always, questions, comments or critiques always welcome....

Your favorite song as of today
Len Geisler replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When it comes to music, I am quite varied in my interests.....I am a huge Springsteen fan, but frequently have a new favortie CD in the car. This week it is Nickelbacks "Dark Horse". I am a BIG Nickelback fan, so much so I bought Bon Jovi tickets because they were opeing for them. It was awesome. As far as songs go, "Shakin Hands" is my number one this week..... -

Jeff, Maybe your shorts are a bit too tight, loosen up this is a FREAKIN HOBBY......You are always looking for something to gripe about, at least that is my perception... I don't care what you say, someone posting a model related topic, in the wrong section or not, isn't spamming in my eyes. Now if he came on here selling long distance phone cards, or surplus combat boots that have been RFA, I'd say he was spamming... Loosen up guy..... BTW, I'd love to get Gregg or Harry's take on this one..... -

I agree with the "Posting Police" above you may be in the wrong section, however, if they bothered to read they would have see that you also carry car kits that relate to this MODEL CAR board..... -

I have been a little slack in getting projects done this year, I have 2 more on the bench I'd like to finish before the year is up, but we shall see. Anywho, here is my latest completion, weathered 55 Chev y Stepside.... I was in a real building rut and decided I needed to try something new, so before anything rash, like a plane or ship (bought some of each...LOL), I took a shot at weathering....The interior sports a bomber seat from Replicas and Miniatures, a billet tach from Detail master, and a sewing needle for a shifter. AMT 55 Chevy Stepside pick up with some mild weathering and a W-head engine from the parts box. I know the wheels are wrong for the truck, but they looked good to my eye, and I didnt have any 6-luggers around Minimal added details, basic wire and plumbing on the engine, used some 30lb test fishing line for the fuel "tubes". Replicas an Miniatures supplied the distributor and Radio Shack the plug wires, with boots from Parts by Parks. Here is the rear end of the truck, hard to see in this pick but I added 59 Caddy "bullets" from the Modelhaus and a resin club plaque that I have made some copies of from and old Revell kit...Also, kinda hard to see is the Texas "SUEDE" license plate made at the ACME Platemaker. As always, hope you like, and questions, comments and critiques always welcome....
